I just tried the chicken satay ($12.95) and it was one of the best versions of this dish I ever had. Usually I don’t get this dish, cause it’s sometimes dry like jerky on a stick, but NO not here, it was juicy and moist and not super thin cut like some places.
I just tried the Garlic Delight dish which is a stir fry with you choice of meat, chicken, pork, or beef I think. I choose pork, cause pork is way more interesting flavor wise than plain old chicken. Lots of garlic in a delightful sauce mixes with broccoli and other veggies. ($14.95). This is one of the better item on the menu.
I tried the Woon Sen Noodles ($14.95) and these were fantastic. Not as well known as Pad Thai, it’s a very good alternative than the usual Thai experience. It had “thin glass noodles” that absorb the sauce right into the noodles. Give it a try! Again, I got it with the pork meat option, no skimping on the meat here!
The Tom Kha Soup ($14.95) is perfect on a colder day, made with coconut milk and you choice of meat along with lots of veggies and mushrooms, this is a good soup to try! The big bowl serves up to 4 people, or double helpings for two!
I recommend trying out this new Tuk Tuk Thai restaurant, just come before 4pm. cause dining in is the the best food experience, they only do take out after 4pm, cause they have so many orders, they can’t service the dine in customers in a timely manner.
One dish you should try is the Garlic Delight dish. ($14.95). I opted for pork as my meat, I think it’s more tasty than plain ole chicken. Comes with rice and a one tasty dish. pork is same price as chicken.
Yes, you can still get the Pad That if you’re just not that adventurous. they do a really good version here. Just ask for more limes, I love lime juice over those noodles.
Then we tried another standard, the coconut milk soup that everybody has. ($14.95) Wow, this version was so full of solids and meat, this was off the charts good! We got it with pork, which was tender and way more flavor than chicken that most people get.
Last we tried the Pineapple Fried Rice. I thought it was gonna be sort of a gimmick dish, you know, toss in pineapple and make it exotic, but this dish really works and tastes super good with that slight sweet pineapple flavor and or course with pork as the meat. I’d recommend this one just to try!
Overall, I think this Tuk Tuk is a great find, and so dang popular that they have to close off dining inside after 4pm! The food has gotta be good! Check out this place, it’s right next to the Starbucks at the north end of Minden.
We also ordered basil chicken and pad thai; both were excellent, very fresh ingredients. We ended on a sweet note with mango sticky rice!
We’ve already picked out what we’ll be ordering next time.
The food was superb! The Thai spice levels very accurate (five means quite warm).
The service is so attentive. All around a really lovely meal. I took leftovers home as well. I will definitely be back!
