Tex’s World Famous BBQ is the best! Tim and his staff are Fabulous and the food is Delicious! The service is superb! I just absolutely love the atmosphere & decor. This place makes me feel like I’m going back in time visiting my Grandparents! I can hardly wait to go back on a Thursday for Rib Day! Tim thank you a fantastic lunch, the special fish gift and for making us feel special!!!

I’m giving all 5’s, but just know the food is basic good. Didn’t have anything bad. Didn’t have anything amazing. I did really like the brisket and of all things the toast. Pork was vinegary tasting, but I’ve found that’s a TN regional thing. Their homemade mild sauce wasn’t too bad. Turnip greens had some nice heat. Slaw was very good. Mac n Cheese was ok. Potato salad… acceptable, but not my favorite. Atmosphere was like stepping back 30 years in old Nashville. Loved it! Excellent service as well. No issues. And the price was very favorable. Long story short, I’d go back.

Traveling from MI found this random place. Unbelievable how busy it was for lunch and worth every minute of time waiting. Food was great and alot of it for a very affordable price. Next time in Nashville we will be back. Got the sampler plate, ribs, turkey, sausage and brisket. Potatoes and green beans. Awesome place, no frills just good food.

Our only BBQ experience while visiting Nashville did not disappoint! Nice proprietors, yummy (and very filling!) food and fun decor for a reasonable cost. Highly recommend!

My first time there and the parking lot was packed and I was like I should probably get back in my car and find something else but I really wanted to eat here. I thought I was going to have this super long wait and turns out it’s cafeteria line style and I was in and out faster than I could believe and I was already on my way to get to my Airbnb so I could eat lunch and then go to the expo at the fairgrounds. Their food is most excellent and the portions are super generous I would be there more often if I live closer. I probably go in there at least two or three times a week. If you’re traveling through Nashville, you need to stop here and give yourself a truly delicious meal

Had to test out this style of BBQ, being from Texas. The inside is like an old school cafeteria. Choose your meat and sides. I decided to test their Brisket, mac n cheese, and jalapeño beans. The brisket was decent. Little more tough than I like, but the bbq sauce saved it. The sides were amazing. I would go back to test a new brisket and try new sides, I know not all briskets are cooked the same. Did bring back old bbq memories growing up in south Texas.

My first time here was in 1997 and tried the sampler platter (with BBQ bologna of course). It was fantastic then and what is absolutely amazing is that they still have the same quality BBQ to this day. Nashville has changed so much it is almost unrecognizable but some things like Tex’s World Famous Bar-B-Q are so good they just don’t need to!

We had an amazing experience at Tex’s World Famous Bar-B-Q. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is rustic and authentic, yet very well organized and clean — it really gives you that classic Southern BBQ vibe.
The food? Simply excellent. The brisket was juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The sides were delicious too, and everything came at a very fair price. You get great quality without overpaying.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for real BBQ and a true local experience in Nashville!

I often seek out out-of-the-way BBQ joints while traveling, and Tex’s BBQ stands out as the best I’ve found in the past ten years. The brisket was melt-in-your-mouth perfection, and the pulled pork was Juicy smoky goodness. The smoky aroma drew me in, and the friendly staff made me feel right at home. The “sweet/hot” sauce option was fantastic. Whether you’re a BBQ aficionado or just passing through, Tex’s is a must-visit. I know I’ll be making it a regular stop on my travels. Highly recommended!
