We needed a quick bite and picked this sub place, right across the entertainment stage with a great view of the harbor.
The menu has plenty of options, including vegetarian.
The sandwiches were good, however, we felt were overpriced. Also the staff was not very smiley and certainly slow.
We had the meatball and Mediterranean sandwiched and made one of them a meal with chips and a drink.
The atmosphere was okay. Infesting statistics on the fairies wheel across and photos and articles from decades ago.
Overall okay experiment with well-tasting food.

Traveler that attended Super MAGFest 2026. Was looking for a local place to try and Potbelly caught my eye as a sub sounded a good way to fill me up after my journey here. Cozy interior, despite the crowded interior thanks to the event. Despite that, got an Original Pizza Melt Sub and Strawberry Shake. The sub was very flavorful, the bread also being of note for being nicely toasted and good. The ingredients in the sub were flavorful and great. Decided I wanted to sample another dish, I got a cup of Chicken Pot Pie. Absolutely divine soup. Very warm flavor that is comforting and savory. It saddens me a bit knowing I won’t be able to get to here once I return home. But it gets my approval.

We went here late evening this past Friday and had a great experience. Good service from the get go but the reason I’m writing a review is when they rung us up and bagged our items, the man put a spoon and napkins in the bag for us based on what we bought. A small but perfect touch to a seamless experience. Keep it up!

First time eating at Potbelly and it’s one of the freshest foods you can eat. Stay away from those other fast food places and consider having a great sandwich with a salad or soup for the same price as a high sodium and cholesterol burger with fries. Potbelly sandwich place is worth visiting and enjoying delicious sandwiches. We ordered steakhouse beef hot sandwich with chips & drink. Unfortunately the customer before us wrongly picked up ours. The lady who prepared the sandwich, quickly intervened to correct the order for the prior customer but also prioritized to make remake our sandwich. It was undoubtedly an awesome customer service act, we were truly appreciative and like it. Thanks to the lady and store manager or supervisor.

I’m disappointed with the service we received today at the Potbelly location at National Harbor. My son and I stopped by, as we often do, but today’s experience left a bad impression.
There was a customer ahead of us placing a large order, so we patiently waited our turn. The employee behind the counter kept his head down the entire time without acknowledging us. After several minutes, he abruptly looked up and said, “You ready?” — in a tone that came off as rude and impatient. While we were ready (my son always gets the same thing), a simple greeting or acknowledgment would have gone a long way.
To make matters worse, another employee commented about the growing line, to which the first employee defensively replied, “Well, it wasn’t my fault.” The interaction felt tense and unwelcoming.
As local residents who frequent this location often, it’s frustrating to feel like good service is hit or miss — and unfortunately, more often a miss. We’d love to continue supporting our neighborhood Potbelly, but the customer service needs real improvement. It shouldn’t feel like a chore or a gamble to order a sandwich.

Ordered through the Potbelly app for delivery. Estimated time was 8:30pm on the app and then I was sent a text that my order would arrive by 8:14pm, then it changed to 8:21pm. Then no more updates. The link in the text allowed me to see the driver name and number; so at 8:15pm I called to see how close the driver was because I have to meet them in the parking garage. No answer. I call the resteraunt. Lisa answers says no pick up was done. It was canceled. I said I ordered through app and paid through there and I did not cancel. She said Doordash is who I have to call. I explained that I did not order through Doordash and that I ordered from the Potbelly website. She explained that Doordash does the deliveries. I called them back and drove to Potbelly in the process. Lisa called her manager, El, and they resolved the issue with me. After 47 min on the phone with Doordash there was no resolve and a promise that I would receive a phone call is all they gave me. No one called from Doordash today. I appreciate El and Lisa at Potbelly for their help. Lisa worked with excellence and professionalism and that is hard to come by these days. @potbelly: find another delivery service that wants to serve your customers.
