We went to Comune for the first time last night and would give it a solid 4.5 across the board.
If I were vegetarian, I’d probably really love this place. But even as a definite carnivore, I found the food to be outstanding.
The roasted carrots were spectacular. The grilled trumpet mushrooms was my favorite dish of the night. I found the crispy rice to be very interesting mix of textures and flavors. The charred caesar was a little disappointing for me probably because I’ve had really good charred caesars and so maybe my expectation was too high.
My son and I had just flown in early in the morning so didn’t want to drink too much so didn’t try any of the cocktails though they sounded good. I love that the wine list comprises of predominantly natural wines though the list doesn’t have any of my favorites. I thought it was nice there was a nice red with a little age (2018) by the glass which I had.
Overall great restaurant, very good service, beautiful space and I look forward to a return visit.

Comune is a restaurant that offers a noteworthy experience. I called in for a reservation for two, and the host promptly assisted us. Despite the challenges of parking in the area, we managed to find a spot.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by a kind host who escorted us to our table. The restaurant’s interior design was aesthetically pleasing, and the lighting created a pleasant ambiance. We discovered that Comune is a vegan establishment, which was an unexpected surprise as we had not previously dined at one. Brad was our server and great, he was able to help us choose our best options. Our appetizers were okay; the beet tartare offered a unique flavor profile, and while the bread was excellent, the accompanying sauces could benefit from refinement. The mushroom bolognese, however, was somewhat lacking in flavor. Concluding our meal, the coconut dessert was a refreshing and amazing choice. Overall, the restaurant provided a commendable experience, and while the cuisine was acceptable, we know that we may not represent the primary target demographic. All-in-all the bill was $135 before tip, and was worth the experience.

We got the roasted carrots, bread + spread, black garlic cacio e pepe, walnut-maitake mushroom bolognese, and the avocado chocolate cake for dessert. Dessert was my favorite part. I’d be interested to come back again when menu items are changed. I loved the ambiance of the restaurant and the service was great.

Comune never disappoints! The atmosphere is inviting, it’s full of plants, candles, and kind people. The massive pita with 3 rotational spreads is a favorite of mine, and you can never go wrong with the crispy rice. Everything is flavorful and filling. Even though I don’t drink, plenty of family/friends of mine have gotten great cocktails and wine that pair perfectly with the food!

I visited with my parents recently. Mac was our server and she went above and beyond to make us feel well taken care of. The food was excellent. We ordered several dishes to share and they were at once refined and down to earth. YUMMY is the first word that comes to mind. Cocktails and wine were also great. I don’t live in OH but will be adding this to my list of places to visit each time I’m in town.

Comune is refined vegetarian/vegan dining. The food changes seasonally, but each dish is crafted carefully and beautifully.

The atmosphere is industrial modern, but an inventing and unpretentious execution.

While it is definitely a pricier establishment, the food will not disappoint in flavor and presentation for those who are looking for vegetarian/vegan friendly finer dining.

Always a treat! The food is incredible—every dish is prepared wonderfully with careful consideration of every single detail.
The watermelon carpaccio was delicious! The drinks were balanced and the server made great recommendations.
I highly recommend this restaurant to all vegetarians, but even more importantly, to anyone looking to try something new or explore vegetarian foods. It will absolutely not disappoint!

As a devoted carnivore, I often find vegetarian restaurants like Comune to be a bit polarizing. However, the way they experiment with textures and layer rich, complex flavors across a wide assortment of dishes makes it easy to appreciate the effort and artistry behind each plate. Comune manages to make you forget you’re not actually eating meat and that is no small feat imo.

This has to be one of the best spots in Columbus. I try to go at least once per season to taste the rotating menu and I’m never disappointed. Cocktails are also on point. Photo dump from a multitude of meals (yes we get the bread and spread every time. It’s a must)

All their dishes are spectacularly visually and delectably pleasant. It’s a shame that the Chef and owners don’t take the easy step from going vegetarian to vegan. Seemed that they would be capable of crafting delicious dishes without eggs and diary
