Good Chinese restaurant on State Street. Fast friendly service, nice facility, good food. The only down side was that they brought out my entree at the same time as my appetizer. One thing to be aware of is that they do not have fountain soda, so if you order a refill on your Pepsi, you’re buying a new can.

Not a terrible food but I wouldn’t call it good either. Had a Yangzhou fried rice and a spice soup with beef tender.

Shabu shabu (Japanese hot pot) served here was really good! Plan to have a long and lazy meal. They do an outstanding all you can eat option. Plenty of great options on the cold buffet! They’ll also do a split pot for mild and spicy broths if someone in your group doesn’t prefer spicy food. Both were amazing! I can’t speak to their other stuff, but try the shabu shabu!

This place has two very different menus (as in – separated physically and in terms of quality), and your choice of menu probably matters more than your choice of dish. The short, two sided menu of Americanized dishes is, aside from being short and Americanized, also not particularly well done – if you only want sesame chicken or shrimp lo mein there is better elsewhere (we ordered both).

Okay food, okay service. They offer cheap American Chinese food. The sit down service was mediocre, we waited a long time to place our order even though there were very few people there. When the food arrived the portions were large, but the quality could not hold up to other restaurants nearby. There is a dessert bar, it is not clear if it’s included in a meal but there are very few options so its not worth it if you need to pay for it. I would go again but I prefer other options on state street.

First the positive notes. It was a Saturday night and we were able to get a table with no wait. Service was initially very prompt and our food was delivered very quickly. Soup was quickly followed by our appetizer and almost immediately by our entrees. Everyone agreed their soups were good and the steamed dumplings were good. Both noodle entrees we ordered were seriously lacking in flavor. The fried rice served with the chicken entrees were likewise bland. The general’s chicken and orange chicken were good. Unfortunately, once the food was delivered we were largely ignored. If we wanted anything we had to track down a server.

I had the hot pot here on a Sunday for lunch. With $26 (excl. tip, incl. tea) kinda pricy. It was a medium priced hot pot choice. Other than that, the food was great (even though the meet came in frozen rolls). Service was way better than the reviews made me anticipate. Mostly male Chinese students at the other booths and tables. The one menu I got clearly indicated the page with American Chinese food. Would come again.

I did enjoy the food here! It was better than our original choice. I have not ate in any local restaurants in Madison in a long time…I was very thankful for the Chow Mei Fun for my daughter, otherwise she might have not ate. The waitress was nice and helpful. Lots of traditional food to choose from…not chain or “fast food” style. The restaurant didn’t look like it was up to date but I would return here.

Well, for one, the waitstaff has a hard time speaking English. I asked for won ton strips or chow main noodles and that went nowhere. Had the beef noodle soup and while it was good, it seemed pretty bland. Had egg rolls and they were really small, but tasted good.
