Bobola’s Nashua NH – Famous Homestyle Breakfast Served Until 2pm
Reviews
Waitress was excellent, coffee was hot and fresh, and our food came out quick and hot.
My omelet was large and filled with fresh veggies. Husband was happy with the nicely sized ham steak on his plate and the grilled English muffins.
Also shared a plate of corned beef hash. Tasty.
We will definitely try this place again to try more of the items on the menu.
Since it’s rare that I get the chance to eat out and rarely see my cousin, she let me choose where I’d like to dine today. I chose Bobola’s and I’m so glad I did! It was like coming home!!
We were cheerfully greeted and seated right away. Our waitress promptly came with menus and took our drink order.
We were TRYING to be good, but it was difficult with so many choices. I opted for water, but that’s as far as my resolve to make my doctor proud took me.
My cousin and I both gravitated towards the Chicken Teriyaki. She was eyeing the bowl, but I wanted a wrap, as I’m not fond of white rice. Had I known the rice was pilaf, I would have ordered the bowl as well, but I opted for the wrap and requested that mine also include pineapple, as that was included in the bowl. I also added Swiss to it, and both came with peppers and onions included in the sauce. Both were scrumptious!
I’m sure my doctor wouldn’t have approved of the sauce, but my doctor would have gasped when I ordered their onion rings for my side. Bobola’s makes their own onion rings and they are flaky goodness surrounding juicy onion rings, with just the right amount of seasoning in the delicate batter. OMG! Heaven on a plate!
If you’ve ever lusted after the onion rings that the (now, permanently closed) Pub Grainery used to serve, you need to go immediately to Bobola’s and order yourself a large order!!!
Most restaurants serve either the thick, greasy, tasteless, pancake battered rings, or the mealy, thickly crusted version that Burger King or Denny’s serves.
BOBOLA’S onion rings are exquisite rings, like the good restaurants used to serve back in the day when onion rings weren’t pre-made offsite by some restaurant supplier.
Our waitress (wish I got her name) was a delight! She got our sense of humor and joked with us, which we appreciated. It made us feel even more welcome.
She was very attentive without being pushy, which is a skill that many waitstaff lack. She took our order promptly and answered any questions, and was quick to make me aware that any requests would be happily accommodated.
Our food was served quickly and she checked on us to see if we needed anything, but gave us plenty of time to chat and catch up on family gossip, etc. We rarely get the chance to get together in person, and it was nice to be given the time to do so without feeling rushed.
Our meals were delicious and we enjoyed it at our leisure. The bill was reasonable and we weren’t rushed to pay it. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience. I was very happy to find that my favorite place was still up to my high standards. I can’t wait to return!
I wish I’d taken photos, and I usually do, but I was too excited to think of it until now. Next time! My birthday is coming up!!
I ordered a side salad and onion soup without bread. I told the waitress about my Celiac (GF) and she ensured me there is not issue and will let the kitchen know. My boyfriend was struggling to pick from two menus and the waitress highly recommended his pasta dish.
My soup comes with bread in it so it had to be send back. Not to mention, this was probably the worst French soup I have ever had. My salad was gross and had holes in all the leaves. My boyfriend took two bites of his meal and was done. He said it was like having the cheapest box of pasta and jar sauce.
Our waitress was good at first but then disappeared. We had to flag somebody else down for the check. The bill was like $60 for food we did not even eat!
I do not recommend this place. Maybe they can do breakfast well. They have good coffee.
I’d like to mention the bathroom was gross! I walked in and turned right around.
I had a desire for fried fish, a baked potato, and steamed broccoli. Surprise! It was on the specials menu! Fish had a lovely, crispy beer batter coating, broccoli was cooked perfectly, and so was my baked potato. I ate everything!
Hubs had the fisherman’s platter (huge) and he was very happy with it. Fish, whole belly clams shrimp, scallops, onion rings, and fries piled high! Coleslaw on the side. He did not finish half of it.
Youngest child had a bacon, cheddar cheeseburger which he said was better than most he’s had. It was very large, 8 oz. He didn’t finish it and took about 1/3 home.
We had 3 alcoholic beverages and son had a coke. We also got the appetizer sampler with mozzarella sticks, potato skins, and stuffed mushrooms. All tasty.
Service was excellent and the place was busy but not too crowded. I even believe the cook came out to ask us how everything was. We complimented him and the staff for an excellent dinner.
We’ve been here for breakfast too and it was good as well.
