I visited this place on a Saturday night, which seems to be family night. Atmosphere and the surface was great. The food was average and had the quality of a Mexican chain restaurant. The seafood enchilada was missing a little more spice. But a good place to visit if you’re in DC.

I recently visited this restaurant and had a disappointing experience. The food didn’t taste great, and to make matters worse, I saw mice running on the floor while I was checking out. Given the condition of the restaurant, I’m concerned about the potential for contamination. However, I did want to mention that the staff was really nice and the service was great, which made the situation even more surprising. It’s no wonder the restaurant was empty, despite the friendly service. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this place due to the cleanliness issues.

Family owned, no fuss just outstanding food, kindest people, BEST spicy margaritas (they make them with actual fresh jalapeños). This place continues to be our absolute favorite. We have thoroughly enjoyed every dish we have tried here.
If you’re looking for fancy, keep looking. If you’re into home food, fresh ingredients and people that treat you like family, try La Plaza!

La Plaza is a vibe. They pack the tables inside and there’s a popping sidewalk patio with more tables. It’s decorated with bright colors and the staff are friendly. It’s a fun spot to get queso and frozen margaritas.
We popped in after Santa Rosa was too busy. The menu at La Plaza is large with tacos, burritos, enchiladas, and more. The prices are a bit steep for the quality of food. Everyone in my party thought their dishes were average from the ground beef enchiladas to the veggie fajitas to the nachos. Everything lacked flavor and was just okay.
The mango frozen margarita was pricey, but I enjoyed it! I also appreciated the free chips and salsa.

Always an amazing place to visit, best salsa in DC and phenomenal service. Carlos and José, Christian are always the best servers and make you feel super welcome! The food is also 10/10, so much flavor that just blends perfectly. Vast menu and options for everyone, also very family friendly. I highly recommended the Chicken and Steak Fajitas, but everyone I’ve ever taken there has loved their food.

I’m so sad to give this place a bad review because it was SO yummy and so cute, but they poisoned me with a known food allergy that I disclosed ahead of time… and I had a very serious reaction and it ruined my night out. They need to take food allergies more seriously and be more careful…if they do that, it would be an easy 5 stars. I feel like they should have at a minimum comped our meal, but they just gave my partner a free shot of tequila…which was odd and not helpful for the situation, as we had to leave and I had to seek medical care.

Had a really great time here! With it being cold, the front foyer was nice in helping the restaurant to feel cozy. We sat in a half booth/ chair situation that was perfect! Ordered the El jefe regular margarita that was awesome. I ordered the veggie fajitas no peppers(not a fan) and it was phenomenal!! There were so many other vegetables that it’s now my fave go-to. My dining partner ordered the chimichanga. They enjoyed it, but wish it had queso on top. The chips and salsa were perfect for us hungry visitors. Can’t wait to come back!! Great Mexican/Salvadoran spot!!

We’ve been going here off and on for many years. Usually a casual lunch and margaritas. This time just early drinks and chips. The restaurant was just opening and they were very accommodating. No food but previously the food is always good. Pics of a margarita and chips. Boring review for a gem of a Mexican restaurant. No doubt we will be back.

I just ordered a veggie quesadilla and nachos. The quesadilla had BROCCOLI and tomatoes in it??? Like who does that especially a “mexican” place. They told me the sides for my nachos(which were burned on the edges) would be on the side yet they were all on top. This was “to go” so everything even the broccoli quesadilla was no good to eat by time I was home, and hardly had vegetables in it. If you want to drink then go not for great food though it’s crap or maybe if I was another race I would’ve gotten better service & food.
