When we entered the restaurant everything seemed really promising. It was fairly busy inside and we were able to seat ourselves and a waitress came by within the first like 5 minutes of us sitting. We placed our orders for drinks and that took about 15 minutes to get. That probably should have been a warning sign for us. We put in an order for chips and salsa as an appetizer and tacos. It took about an hour to get food back, and I don’t think our waitress checked on us except for 10 minutes before the food came out. I don’t think it was her fault though, they just looked severely understaffed. When the food arrived we had mixed reactions. The fish tacos were bland with no flavor. The chips were overly salted and the bean tacos were mid at best. The carne fajita tacos were delicious. The carne asada tacos were full of a lot of fat, very grisly.
I think the biggest thing for us is they just need more staff. Our waitress is very nice when we did get to see her.

The space needs some major attention. A deep cleaning on their extremely sticky floors. The extreme tackiness of the tables, menus and just about anything you touch. The beers were cold and they have an amazing tequila list, which is by far my favorite part of the experience. Highly recommend that, check back when maybe they clean the place.

Not my favorite Mexican food. Their drinks are ok, but even though two people ordered the same drink (the elderflower), two different drinks were served, one being almost straight alcohol. The tacos were served cold and late. The only one that had good flavor was the Al Pastor. I also ordered the rice and beans. The rice wasn’t super flavorful and the beans were mostly cheese. The chips and guac also tasted like they were bought at the grocery store. The service was good, they handled our large party well, split the bill for us, and were friendly.

I ordered the queso & a margarita which were great. Then I ordered one “American” taco which the menu says comes with beef, lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream. The taco arrived with no sour cream. All the sauces on the table included habanero and so they were a no go. I asked for the sour cream and was delivered a small cup of something with a liquid (think milk) consistency. Server said it was made with buttermilk but the consistency was just gross. I tried eating the taco without the sour cream and it was dry. I could only eat one bite. And of course I was charged for it, even though it didn’t arrive as the menu stated it was supposed to. So I recommend this place for drinks but definitely not food.

The front staff is hit or miss and it’s not worth the disrespectful behavior you’ll experience. (shockingly disrespectful for absolutely no reason, to such a degree that I tried again to see if it was just a bad day, I completely avoided eye contact from the front of the house girl who, unprofessionally sat at the bar while “working” on her phone. Not all of them, its one specific individual that is a nightmare). Caitlin and Greg are fantastic, but there’s female staff member there that is absolutely unprofessional and judgmental based on nothing you’ve done. It’s not a place you can feel comfortable just hanging out, eating drinking, etc. . It’s so horrific that they will disrespect you if they see you outside of “their” restaurant.
The back of the house people are good and professional, however. The girls that are in the front of the house will go out of their way to disrespect and make your experience horrible. It’s shocking, after 20+ years of experience in the service industry I’ve never been so disrespected.
Again, first disrespected with tone and a attitude and made to feel dumb at Tipsy Tina’s, then doubly so if you see the staff at any place outside of the establishment. Not to mention, that they will be on their phones the majority of the time, even sitting down while doing so.
In my opinion, service should be without negative connotation. Unfortunately, there’s girls there that will be overtly disrespectful to you, especially if you are by yourself. I assume (based on their actions and words and actions) that they believe that you are an annoying thing that they have to deal with, again, I’ve never seen such an unprofessional employee at any establishment ever.
For example, I sat at the bar for dinner and a couple of drinks. This specific female employee was sitting at the bar, on thier phone, and gave me the overt impression that I was an annoying inconvenience simply for ordering food and seeking conversation. To me it was shocking, especially given the extensive experience that I’ve had in the service industry before my current success in another field.
I ran into this individual while with a friend ( not intending too, and frankly, after the negative experience I had before, she was the last person that I wanted to see), and after seeing them they overtly said ” go away “. Again, I was with a friend, and happened to be so unfortunate as to run into her after she got off of work.
In the end, the conclusion I’ve come to, is that it is not worth interacting with this “employee”. If you’re unfortunate enough to be there while she is there you’ll know, she’ll be sitting at the bar on her phone.
I was checking this place out for a 20+ person monthly party, and based on her completely unprofessional behavior we’ll be going to Ledbellies instead, where we are treated like people and not made to feel like inconvenient scum.
In conclusion, I want to be clear that most of the employees are very good and professional, but there’s one that’s so bad that they have an outsized effect on my , and potentially your experience. Go to ledbellies across the street until this walking harassment of an “employee” is fired.

Service and atmosphere were great enjoyed the food. Lots of stuff but we enjoyed each various tacos. I went with shrimp, fish, and ground beef. Brother in law loved some of the other steak tacos for diner. We enjoyed sitting up at the bar and watching 3 different NCAA football games. Great for sports. Great cocktails. Wide variety of stuff to choose from.

Another Date Night on a budget. Taco Style.

Luckily we were seated right away, I think it’s the first time we didn’t have to wait. Our server was over within a couple of minutes. Started with Chips and Mild Salsa which, to me, still had a bit of a kick. My husband totally disagreed . Chips were super fresh.

I already knew I wanted a Tostada, sub black beans, chose the Cilantro Lime Vinaigrette to top. It is probably my favorite thing here. Also a yummy Fish Taco. I don’t like Chipotle flavor but figured out the Creamy Cilantro sauce pairs well with it instead.

He usually tries out the weekly taco special, this time being Buffalo Chx Dip with melted cheddar and Cilantro. Also went with the Pollo Asada and his favorite the Memphis which is like a BBQ Brisket deal. He said the 2 chicken tacos were a tad on the dry side but really liked the accompaniments. Totally loved the Brisket like always.

I don’t know if it was cuz we were slightly later than usual or what but our food came out sooooooo quickly! My substitutions were correct. Toppings were very generous. Our server Emma was attentive and friendly! We were in and out in a flash. Great dinner!

We went to Tipsy Tina’s and were seated right away. Drink order was taken quickly and my husband had to get his favorite Mango Habanero Salsa and chips. Waaaaaaaay too spicy for me but he loves it .

He ordered 2 tacos. The Carnitas with pickled onions and jalapeños and the weekly special which featured Barbacoa, cheddar, that spicy salsa, pineapple, and onions. Man, he loves the spicy stuff! Both disappeared quickly.

I got a Tostada, sub black beans, which came out normal the first time and sans sour cream the second time so I just went with it. The Cilantro Lime Vinaigrette is so good. I also had a Fish Taco, sub Creamy Cilantro for the Chipotle sauce. It needed remade as well but that creamy sauce is Delicious! Lastly a Breakfast Fajita Taco with Extra Egg instead of Steak. This one was super hooked up and I’d totally order them all again.

Didn’t have time for an after dinner Margarita but there’s always next time!

Definitely the best surprise we had in Haymarket. Very chill, down to earth place, with great drinks, bite size snacks, amazing service, and best prices in town

The margaritas were great

The tacos here are amazing, definitely some of the best in town. As for the drinks, the blended margaritas are the way to go; the others didn’t impress as much. The “bigger” margarita and the overall vibe make this place iconic.

This is my second time ordering tacos here, and so far they are some of the best tacos in my opinion. Food wise I love this place, but service wise it’s not good. We arrived over two hours before a concert and only 12 people in the restaurant. We placed our drink and food orders within 5 minutes of sitting down. Our server was very friendly and prompt in the beginning. Within 30 minutes of being seated the place doubled with customers as expected. We received our drinks and appetizers close to 5 minutes after placing the orders. Our food took well over 30 minutes from when we placed the orders, and we all needed drink refills or to receive our new drinks by the time I food arrived. Our server became nonexistent by the time our food arrived. Our boys went over 10 minutes without drinks because our server or bar never refilled them. My husband sat with his food awaiting on a new beer for over 10 minutes as well. Our server informed us they don’t have a drink station so waiting on a very busy bartender to refill sodas isn’t ideal. Plus, asking for more chips to go along with our dips took so long we ended up leaving. I’m guessing they were short staffed (or hoping that’s the reason) for not so great service. Food is great and the main reason we keep coming back honestly. Maybe our third time will go up!
