Excellent country restaurant with some of the best southern cooking around. The catfish is excellent with okra and corn in the cob. Farm to table restaurant. Be prepared for something different with the potato salad as they add green and black olives.

Great place for actual home cooked food…not just pretending! This place would be packed in a bigger city but if you’re near here or trust me it’s worth the drive. Thursday-Sunday only. I highly recommend the fried garden mix and bowman’s baked beans as sides. Very friendly and has that local feel… because it is!

If you want delicious home cooked food, please come here. It’s definitely off the beaten path, but well worth it. Such a hidden gem. The food will take you back to childhood holiday dinners.
And the desserts are phenomenal.

I am HIGHLY disappointed in this restaurant. We went in for a family meal and split the check three ways. The waitress was named Kelsey. She had literally stated she was too lazy to make the deviled eggs. They only had chicken tenders as an option for kids meals, so if your child is wanting something else you are going to pay an adult meal price. Then when we got our check to leave we noticed that she charged two meals for a double cheeseburger. Literally $15 twice. When we asked her about it, all she could say was “yes. I did.” And then stated she charged an additional sweet tea as a side. The sweet tea was not even something we were given AND it was put on a whole other ticket. The tips are included based on how much is spent so this girl got a $32 tip for us to be denied a menu option, because of “laziness” and charged for two meals for one extra patty. I can only imagine the people who aren’t checking their tickets and then additionally tipping cash. In total we paid over $200. As my first experience here I am HIGHLY displeased with this restaurant, and will not be back.

Drove by their sign on the highway and stopped to take a photo since my last name is also Bowman. Decided to give it a try for lunch and WOW! what a wonderful gem of a restaurant!
First of all, the entire place is spotless. The staff is friendly, attentive and very helpful. The food is absolutely the best I’ve ever had at a “home cooking” style restaurant. My wife and I ordered different items and sides, so we got a good sampling- every item we had was delicious and prepared perfectly. We didn’t have room for it, but we even got the warm banana pudding for dessert. I can highly recommend this place and am looking forward to returning soon!

Kinda off the beaten path but worth it. Everything I ate I would order again. I got the brisket potatoe salad and fried medley. The warm banana pudding is great. Edit: came back and I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars. Tried the meatloaf and it’s wonderful. The warm banana pudding would kill a diabetic. Best home style restaurant around period

A quaint & family-owned restaurant, worth the drive! Enjoy the pretty drive thru the countryside to this little gem of a place. My frst visit here, staff is super friendly, attentive, a very clean & welcoming atmosphere, & food was great!!! If you’re looking for a genuine, country cookin’ restaurant with locally sourced food (the menu says most of the veggies come straight from the family garden), you’ll enjoy this place. Check the times & days before going, they’re only open Thurs – Sun. Definitely will be back!!!!

Went in for dinner and there were 8 of us, someone in the party with us ordered a double cheeseburger. At the end of the visit we split the check 3 ways, and the totals were astonishing. One ticket was correct but the other two were not, the one ticket had an extra drink on it which the party was not worried about and then the third ticket had 4 meals instead of 3, and when asked about the problem it was stated that Kelsey (the one who stated she was too LAZY to make deviled eggs) charged the customer for a WHOLE extra meal for a single patty to be added to a mediocre burger! She stated that the tea was added as an extra side to that meal to justify that it was being considered the meal. Meanwhile the 2nd party was already paying for that tea that was supposed to have been a side for the double cheeseburger. She never stated when ordering that it would be considered a whole extra meal and didn’t bother asking if the party would want another side since it was another meal. Her service was horrible and didn’t even check on anyone. 32$ tip split between the three tickets and she didn’t deserve any. I cannot imagine how many others have been scammed and taken advantage of especially since most leave a cash tip without realizing they’re doing card tips also. All tickets combined were well over 200$ and definitely didn’t meet the standards that used to be there, definitely ashamed to have ever recommended somewheres with such horrible customer service on top of over charging for meals not to mention only one option for children, as well as 3$ charge for a can drink!

Such a pleasant surprise! Quaint little country restaurant out in the middle of nowhere. We had the brisket with green beans, crispy fried okra, Mac and cheese, and corn on the cob (2 different orders), and the other person had chicken and dumplings with pintos and more dumplings. Everybody’s plates were great and lots of “yums” were heard throughout the meal. For dessert we had the yellow cake with fudge icing and strawberry cheesecake. Amazing. The yellow cake was super buttery and almost had a graham flavor to it. The icing…”the best chocolate icing I’ve ever had” … We are going to Florida in a week and already planning to make this our dinner stop on the way back home. Already looking forward to it!

Didn’t think to take pictures of the food unfortunately but this was in the hall by the bathroom and I thought it was beautiful.
