Just devoured two savory Colombian empanadas from Mi Patria Bakery and I’m still thinking about them. The outer crunch? Perfect. The filling? Rich, comforting, full of flavor. But the real magic? That little cup of salsa they include. Zesty, spicy, and layered. Dipping the empanada in it somehow made everything more alive. Like it unlocked a bonus level of flavor.
The shop itself smells amazing, like you’re walking into a warm embrace. The energy was upbeat and the service was so kind. The cashier greeted me with rapid, beautiful Spanish (all I caught was pelo azul) before noticing I was struggling and switching to English with a smile.
Whether you’re fluent or fumbling through your español, Mi Patria makes you feel welcome. And your taste buds? They’re gonna throw a party.

Wow. Just…..wow. Hands down the best place to get Colombian empanadas. They have a good selection of hot food, sausages and empanadas and croquettes. Next, hit up their pastries. My fave is the guava pastry. They have a ton of goodies, all reasonably priced. Lots of Cuban and Colombian coffee. The ladies behind the counter are always a delight even when our language barriers can be challenging.
