Vsited this Thai restaurant for lunch on a quiet Sunday. The food easily deserves 5 stars. Full of flavour and beautifully prepared. Shoutout to the stir-fried seafood, which was served sizzling hot, and the Salmon on the Hill, paired with a magical creamy cho chee sauce. Both were outstanding.
To be fair, I only saw one staff member on the floor, but if they choose to leave the service to just one person, that person should be experienced, confident, and have things under control. The attentiveness and food knowledge were a bit lacking.
The atmosphere carries a lovely traditional Thai charm, but it could really use some freshening up. Tidier presentation and cleaner details would make a big difference. The menus were also quite old and didn’t inspire much excitement to browse through.
Overall, being located in the heart of historic windsor town, it’s a hidden gem with fantastic food and great potential. It just needs a little fresh breath to truly shine.

A total surprise! Didnt expect to have encountered authentic thai food in windsor.
Will totally come back and try more!
Loved both dishes we ordered. The Singapore noodles were more than fine, great flavor and the presentation was on point.
The green curry started off sweet with a nice spicy kick in the aftertaste. The curry was a bit watery and would be even better if it were thicker. Absolutely loved the cute heart-shaped white rice!

Thai 89 in Windsor offers a delightful Thai dining experience in a spacious, family-friendly setting. The Pad Thai is a standout, with perfectly balanced flavours and tender noodles. The Pad See Ew impresses with its smoky wok hei and generous portions. For something bolder, the Chilli Jam Crispy Pork delivers a satisfying crunch with a sweet-spicy kick. A selection of drinks, including beers and wines (their home moscato was ), complements the meal perfectly. The restaurant’s decor is inviting, and the authentic tuk-tuk at the entrance provides a fun photo opportunity for guests.
My only gripe was the prices are a slight bit on the higher side, however, the quality and the location makes up for it. They also served a treat for Mothers Day to the women at the table. With friendly service and consistently delicious food, Thai 89 is a local gem worth visiting.

We walked in for a quick lunch and were met by the ‘waiter’ who simply pointed at a table and didn’t say a word to us. Whatever. When we were ready to order he came to the table and said ‘yep’. That’s it, nothing else except ‘yep’. What sort of communication to customers is that? Beautiful food is the only way this review wasn’t a one.

Food is full of flavour and worth every dollar. Service is good. Ambience is average. Good variety of drinks, but no cocktails. Overall a good experience. Will definitely come again.
