We rolled up hungry on a Friday morning and left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. This spot nails that perfect combo of Southern comfort food done right—fresh, hearty, and full of flavor—without any pretension. The vibe is welcoming and cozy, with friendly staff who make you feel like a regular even on your first time.
I went for the **Truck Stop Breakfast**, and it was everything I hoped for. Thick-cut, pecanwood-smoked bacon crisper to perfection, tasty eggs (I got mine over easy), and a large homemade buttermilk biscuits that was tall, buttery, and practically melted in mymouth, plus hearty breakfast potatoes on the side. A classic, no-frills plate that executed at a high level—generous portions, hot off the grill, and seriously satisfying. No weak links here; every bite hit the spot.
My wife opted for the **fried chicken sandwich**, and she couldn’t stop raving. The chicken was juicy and tender inside with a crispy, well-seasoned breading—not too greasy, just right. It came on a soft bun with the fixings, and she said it was one of the best she’s had in the area (and she loves a good chicken sandwich). The side of fries was fresh and crispy too.
Everything felt made-from-scratch, the coffee was solid, and service was quick and attentive even when though it was busy. It’s the kind of place that reminds you why local spots beat chains every time—great food, warm hospitality, and that small-town charm.
If you’re in the Southern Pines/Aberdeen area craving a killer breakfast or brunch, Mason’s is a must-try. We’re giving it a full **5 eggs**—top-tier, no hesitation. We’ll be back for sure, maybe to try the Nashville hot chicken or that famous Train Wreck next time!
Highly recommend. Go hungry!
The staff is always so friendly and service is great. Definitely recommend this place for a weekday breakfast or weekend brunch and I am super excited that they are going to be open for dinner too.
The food was amazing!
The toast was fluffy-airy- and just melted in my mouth. This was the best toast that we had ever ate.
Potatoes were crispy- not oily- and tasted super freshly cooked.
Pancakes are amazingly delicious and huge!
The blueberries & strawberries were big, juicy sweet, and delicious.
Ms. Joy (I believe was her name- elder lady helping us) – she was extremely sweet, attentive & friendly.
Didn’t see if there was a kids menu available.
We loved the atmosphere, modern look and super nice staff.
The bathrooms are located in the back of building- which you cross the kitchen- the kitchen was super clean, organized and staff was working together.
Bathrooms were super clean.
Team extended warm + inviting hospitality, always checked in on food, and ensured refilling of beverages.
Would stop by again, though after eating + dining there, the restaurant stands more of a usual spot to grab your classic breakfast list- Good spot + appreciate the chalk board specials, adds more of their touch of creation.
All of it was really good.
We also shared the seasonal fruit plate with granola and yogurt as an appetizer which was delicious as well!
