I am adding more to this review to respond to the response that was received from the previous one, because I can see that not only that the staff are very rude, they’re also pathetic liars and the management is twice as worse. I have never attended the restaurant as a group of 3, nor have I ordered a set menu intended for two people while dining in a group of three or requested for additional top ups from the staff without placing or paying for an extra order! I always attend with my partner and we usually order the set menu A for 2 and go home with our leftover sauces. The day we requested to buy more rice to eat with the remaining sauces, one of the staff member (a young plus size guy) informed us that you can refill the rice as many times to eat whenever you order the set menus which was a total surprise to us as this has never been mentioned before. Are any of your customers aware of this? The only day I ever attended the restaurant with other people, we were a group of 5 and we ordered the set menu A for 5 of us, and fully paid for the 5 people (receipt available). On that day, the issue started with the staff (tall guy) bringing a wrong food (Thai curry x2) and we didn’t request for that, we only requested for the (stir fried beef sauces x2) to be swapped around with the pork sauce as we do not eat pork!! The staff acknowledged the error and out of our good hearts, we decided to just have what was served like that. We requested for more rice to finish with the sauces and got that. When we were done, we requested some takeaway packs to pack the leftover curries as there was no way we could have finished them. Then this same staff came and started ranting about the leftovers we were taking out. A genuine question I would like to ask you is, as you have mentioned you’re not a buffet service, which is obvious, am I not entitled to take home my leftovers from a meal that I fully paid for?
The last encounter I had which made to drop a review, I was meant to have dinner there with my mum and partner which should have been my first time dining as a group of 3. I arrived there with my mum first as my partner was still at work. I was going to go for the usual set menu A to order for the 3 of us and asked the staff if it’s possible to just serve me and my mum first and serve my partner when he arrives, so the foods don’t get cold before he arrives. The staff said it was impossible that the meals have to come together as a set and I agreed and asked to just do the set menu A for me and my mum only, stating categorically that my partner would order his meal separately when he arrives. Few minutes later, the same staff from the previous encounter just came to us and started shouting on top of his voice that we would not be allowed to request for more rice when we get the menu set and continuously mentioned they’re not a buffet service!!!!, I was so confused as I didn’t understand why he kept saying that, I only placed an order respectfully and you’re coming at me. I felt offended and walked up to the lady at the front desk to speak to the manager, however, which was denied, and there was no attempt from her to deescalate the situation.
For management to now double down, accuse me publicly, and compare customers to people seeking “charity” is disgraceful. That response shows exactly why this restaurant has a problem: poor communication, poor training, and worse management.
Your staff need proper English communication skills, basic customer-service training, and de-escalation skills. Customers should also be clearly told that service charge is optional, failing to do so is misleading.
The way I was treated was unacceptable, and your response only confirms it.
It completely ruined the experience before it even started. If there were a 0-star option, I would give it without hesitation. I would strongly suggest others think twice before spending their money here.
