The gentleman who was our server, I believe he may have been the owner and sole employee of the restaurant. He is very short and to the point, not much positive to say in terms of hospitality. That being said, the food was amazing and I would not shy away from getting take out in the future, but the dine-in experience left something to be desired. Be warned, there is an automatic gratuity added to your bill, so don’t leave an extra tip if you don’t want to leave more than 20%.

I shared lunch with 2 girl friends on a drizzly Saturday in March. They had never eaten here before- it was a treat to watch them enjoy the Rice Hot Pots for the first time. I never order any other entree’ when I come to Lemongrass, although next time I’m going to order the Crispy Duck.
We started with 3 appetizers: Butter Chicken Wings, Vegetarian Summer Rolls and Crab Rangoon. All were fresh and very delicious. For entrees, we ordered the Chicken, Shrimp and Special Rice Hot Pots. We had just the right amount of time to eat our appetizers, then the pots arrived- the rice was simmering and crackling in the cast iron pots. Meat and veg served in a delicious brown sauce over crunchy rice. Our waiter was very friendly sharing his favorites. We had leftovers which I will enjoy for lunch today.
It’s fun to impress your friends with great food and a nice atmosphere. My friends are already planning another visit- they loved Lemongrass! I’m always a fan.

I must say, the food was absolutely amazing!! The service and the atmosphere wasn’t as inviting as I would have preferred for it to be! It felt as if the waiter was rushing us or was short-tempered/irritable with someone or something when we walked in the door. Other than that, the food was delicious!

Don’t let the assertive server scare you! He’s super efficient and pays attention to your table needs. The food is absolutely delicious. Highly recommend the hot pot. Rice at the bottom is perfectly crisped. Plenty of meat and veggies on top. Curry lamb was tasty as well. Go in here with the expectation that the food is good.
And the lobsters on the walls have glowing eyes.

As I peacefully napped on a park bench in Tower Grove Park, I was rudely awakened by an acorn smacking me in the face. Apparently, the local squirrel militia was not thrilled with my snoring and decided to declare war. I bravely retaliated with their own acorns, but soon realized I was outnumbered and had to hightail it out of there. I ended up on South Grand, famished from my squirrel-induced cardio workout.
Luckily, I stumbled upon LemonGrass restaurant, a haven for delicious Vietnamese cuisine. The warm welcome and cozy atmosphere instantly put me at ease as I dove into a feast of spring rolls and vermicelli with chicken curry, while my useless dinner companion, who did nothing but laugh at me while the squirrel attacked, opted for the char broiled beef variation. The flavors were on point, the veggies perfectly cooked, and the spring rolls with their divine dipping sauce were a true highlight.
LemonGrass has been a staple in my dining rotation for the past 7 years, and for good reason. The authentic Vietnamese flavors never fail to impress, making it a must-visit spot for anyone craving a taste of the exotic.

Overall, we were disappointed in our meal here. The biggest issue we had was that all of the food tasted overly sweetened compared to similar dishes we’ve had at other Vietnamese restaurants in the past. Everyone harps on the service, but our order was taken quickly and accurately, and the food came to the table promptly.

The food was delicious with an amazing aromatic smell of curry. I had the Vietnamese egg rolls, crispy flaky delicious and the curry beef vary good, I would be happy eating this every day. The bathroom could use a refresh and service was friendly but could of been faster

Tip / Gratuity is AUTOMATICALLY included. One of the last and remaining authentic Vietnamese restaurants in St. Louis. Super delicious, true to the culture foods served here in Grand St. Louis. Highly recommend the crunchy rice (com chay) dish with seafood or a protein of your choice. The current rating of 3.8 stars on Google does not truly reflect the taste, service, and price of the restaurant when we arrived. Highly recommend going here if you ever crave Vietnamese food!!

This was a pretty nice spot!
My husband and I really enjoyed coming here. Right after Sunday morning church we went for lunch there was no wait time and the food came out in quality time.
We ordered the hot pot with crunchy rice and a plate of hot braised chicken. Absolutely delicious. We would love to come back.
