It was nice to find what people in the area consider authentic Mexican food. Order ahead for take out or you can enjoy the small comfortable seating area inside. Seems like they do a lot of business in the Mexican community. Definitely worth trying.

First time dining here. Most of the store is for grocery shopping but there are a few tables to sit and eat. The ladies there are very professional. Speak English and Spanish. I will definitely eat there again.

El Gordo is not a strip mall restaurant. It is a combination mexican grocery, pharmacy (some holistic), restaurant, and takeout. It is located in the (literally) country off the beaten path. Nothing around it but houses, farm land, and a fire station. Food is prepared fresh, and they have many authentic recipes. After I found it, we have frequent it many times. Trying more recipes. If you want and like mexican items and food. This is your place to try. Prices realistic. I saw reviews that people didn’t feel welcomed. That’s a shame. Sometimes in the country you get what you give. Everyone there is just low-key. But they were helpful if you asked something. But I had to wait if that person didn’t speak english. Several didn’t speak English, including many customers, so I’m never tough to rate that situation. Those people just can’t help you very much.
