Absolutely lovely authentic Korean! The chefs really put a lot of love and attention to detail into each dish, everything looked and tasted beautiful. Definitely recommend preordering the Tongdak Chicken, I think we probably demolished it in about five minutes it was so delicious! The service was also wonderful, they were very friendly and personable. We were a large group but the food still came out pretty quickly considering. Also loved our table right near the pickling jars, great to see just how much they make everything in house. Will be back!

Had amazing spicy tofu and roasted chicken. Quite a tight space, but nice ambiance. Would not recommend ordering the kimchi. It was delicious, but £2.75 for 3 tiny bites was absolute robbery. I would order kimchi again if it came in a decent sized bowl or was refilled when finished, as is the style in most Korean restaurants.

Good Korean restaurant, the stuffed chicken, kimchi and the pickles were delicious. The beef short rib stew was a bit too sweet for our taste. The restaurant is very simple but has his own atmosphere, personnel is nice and helpful.
I would be happy to go back.

This is the type of restaurant that combines excellent quality and with a unique experience.

I’ve never loved the inception of small plates restaurants hiking ridiculous prices. Whilst Bokman isn’t cheap, it provides fair sized dishes that are perfect for sharers, tasters and inbetween that allows everyone to try something unique. The service is honest about what they think you might need without trying to be pushy.

The atmosphere is superbly endearing an homely, feeling like your in the beating heart of someone’s home kitchen.

Would really recommend the whole chicken.

Superb food and really nice staff. We had the stuffed chilli starter, then the tongdak chicken. Both were delicious. However, the space itself, and therefore the ability of the two lovely members of staff to do their job, is quite limited, and the night we visited, very, very warm. Also, we were initially seated downstairs. My sister is impaired in her right ear, and literally couldn’t hear a thing due to the confined space and noise, but our lovely server was able to find us a seat upstairs. Such a shame, as the food and staff are both excellent.

Food so good I’m not sure they haven’t flown it in daily. The kimchi and the pickled mushrooms on the banchan genuinely made me tear up a bit. We’re so lucky to have this place.

Honestly, I’m a little upset my favourite spot is blowing up.. but really, the whole team deserves it. Thank you for so many incredible meals ♥️

1st time trying Korean food so didn’t know what to expect and booked a table after reading an article in timeout. The location is perfect and simple as you can see the chefs prepping the food from were we were sitting. Service was great and very helpful. Would definitely recommend the Tongdak woodfirw chicken ( sometime you have to pre order) very popular we probably oredeed to muck food as we had 2 staters 2 mains and sides to shade for 2 and it was plenty would definitely revisit and recommend.

Bokman is such a gem! I came in for their £15 lunch deal and was blown away by the quality and value. You get a choice of mains (I went for the kimchi fried rice with roast pork and fried egg) plus either their soft-serve ice cream or a drink – and everything was delicious. The food is full of bold Korean flavours, the portions are generous, and the atmosphere is warm and buzzing without being overwhelming. It has simple basic casual cafe style seating. Easily one of the best lunch deals in Bristol and a place I’ll keep coming back to.

Went to Bokman for dinner and tried the Tongdak — the rotisserie chicken stuffed with rice — along with other dishes.

The idea of having things like Tongdak and ssam (lettuce wraps) on the menu is good, and it’s nice to see those elements represented. The meal was decent overall, but I was expecting a bit more from the flavours.

The Tongdak in particular felt quite mild — essentially roast chicken with rice — and I was hoping for more heat and seasoning across the dishes generally.

Nothing was bad, it just didn’t quite have the punch or depth that would make it stand out.

It’s a perfectly fine spot, just not one I’d rush back to.
