I’m in New Paltz all the time and have seen this place before, but I never tried it until my most recent trip. This place was so adorable, and I would definitely come back. The coffee was excellent, as was my bacon, egg, and cheese. The staff and service were great as well! The servers were so sweet and made sure my order was correct. I couldn’t be happier with my experience, and you best believe I’ll be back.

I’ve only had incredibly pleasant experiences at The Bakery until today. The staff are wonderful and amazing at their jobs, but the owner clearly has no clue what she is doing.
I ordered a simple caramel latte and received something that was neither caramel nor a latte. I asked to have it remade only to find out that the “reason I didn’t like it” was because she didn’t even make that. She apparently added fudge?? She “fixed” it by adding more milk and caramel. It appears that she doesn’t know what a latte is because it was most likely a poorly drawn shot of espresso in a cup of stale black coffee with a splash of steamed milk. She is definitely aware of her lack of understanding as when I originally asked for a latte she looked frazzled and after she remade it she asked VERBATIM “is it alright now or still crappy?”.
While I typically love this cafe, I am strongly considering going elsewhere from now on. This is absolutely no fault of the other employees; they are sweet people who make a great cup of coffee.

Very cute bakery in New Paltz. Line was a bit long and we waited 30 mins but it was a Sunday morning & fresh food isn’t quick. My sandwich was a bit cold but after letting them a new fresh extra toasty sandwich was brought to me quickly a long with some complimentary cookies. Food was so yummy, coffee was delicious… lemonade was perfect. Definitely try the peanut butter cookie with chocolate on top.

Visited New Paltz for the first time and I could not be happier that this was the first place I walked into! The atmosphere was on point while the employees were helpful and sweet and came with some great recommendations! I believe Izzy served me and she was knowledgeable, kind and gave me a great experience! I’ll definitely be back!

I was amazed walking into this establishment. The immediate factor that made me decide to be a repeat customer was when I met Bella. Bella mesmerized me I had never tipped someone 50% before in my life and today was the day I realized that a business is only as good as the hard workers that create such an atmosphere… I will be back. Please, if you give them a raise you’ll make back the money ten fold in a week . Employee of the year.

This was a longtime favorite of mine, but after this visit I won’t be returning.
The staff was unfriendly and argumentative from the moment I ordered. I clearly asked for toasted bagels, yet I was given untoasted bagels. When I pointed this out, the employee insisted I never ordered them toasted and then refused to remake three toasted bagels, leaving me with six untoasted bagels instead.
I ordered two bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches, and the eggs were clearly microwaved — rubbery, unevenly cooked, and green inside, which was extremely unappetizing and concerning.
The drinks were just as disappointing. The coffee was terrible, the coconut chai drinks were overly sweet and tasted like watered-down syrup, and the hot chocolates were awful flat, flavorless, and honestly tasted like cardboard.
On top of that, the place itself was a mess. A refrigerator door literally fell off, and the overall environment felt chaotic and poorly managed.
The staff appeared out of it, unfocused, and disengaged, which made the poor service and mistakes even more frustrating. It felt like no one was paying attention or taking responsibility for what they were serving.
It’s really disappointing to see such a decline in a place that used to be reliable. Sadly, this experience was bad enough that I won’t be back.

Still leaving rags on the counter that are supposed to be in liquid to kill bacteria. Knives left on the counter and used to help cross contamination. Wiping a knife with a rag and then flicking the left over cream cheese onto the rag which has the knife under it? Not very clean but I did not see the ice bucket on the floor outside the bathroom door on this visit. I cannot eat there anymore. Please have your people or at least one of them take the ulster county food service test and pass it . No jewelry , no long nails, hair nets if preparing food . It is so simple. Put the sandwich you may be making on a piece of clean paper not on a counter next to a knife and rag that has been sitting there for who knows how many hours. The worst was when I watched the person wipe the knife with a rag and then realize they had missed a piece of something on the knife so they used there finger to clean the knife blade and flick the mystery food under the rag and knife.

Was so excited to get a coffee and sandwich but was quickly disgusted and disappointed when I witnessed the owner treat her employees like absolute garbage. While there was one girl behind the counter helping everyone, doing her best the owner stormed downstairs slamming the kitchen door and the door to outside multiple times while also yelling at all the employees while also making one employee cry. Will never be going back.

Don’t bother ordering; ESPECIALLY on DoorDash because your order will be ignored on a busy day. I placed an order on DoorDash and then ended up waiting in line to show them the order anyway because staff didn’t see it. Online pickup counter was just being used for storage. I asked to just cancel the order since I was waiting so long but they refused. In total my order of a bagel and large coffee took 40 minutes. They forgot the vanilla in the coffee as well.
