Chips were average, ive had a better steak out a freezer cooked at home and i can do a 5x better mushroom cream sauce. Tasted diluted and lacked flavour. Peppercorn sauce was decent.
Best thing i ate was the cheese macaroni side. Excellent.
Everything else needed salt and was very average. Lamb chops were small, bland and squishy in texture. No char or bite to it.
From the moment we arrived, the staff were attentive, professional, and friendly. They consistently checked in to make sure we were satisfied without being intrusive, which really stood out. The restaurant itself looked modern, sleek, and ambient, with a lovely terrace overlooking the River Clyde that added to the overall experience. Our food also arrived promptly, with no long or frustrating wait.
As for the steak, it wasn’t the best ribeye I’ve ever had, but it was definitely decent. It was cooked exactly how we asked, not overly chewy, and enjoyable overall. Price-wise, it felt a little expensive; however, given the limited number of halal steak options available, it was still worth trying.
That said, there are a couple of areas the restaurant could improve. The toilets were not in the best condition — there was toilet paper scattered around, and the soap dispenser was broken. Additionally, when it came time to tip, I was disappointed to learn that card tips would go directly to management rather than the staff. Given how excellent the service was, this felt unfair to the team that actually delivered the experience.
Waiting staff are often the first to experience the stress of a busy shift and act as lightning rods for customer criticism, even when issues are completely outside their control. Being able to tip and show appreciation can genuinely make the job feel worthwhile, which is why it’s important that staff can receive tips directly. Luckily, I had cash on me, but not everyone carries cash these days, and management should seriously consider this.
All in all, it’s not a bad place at all and is definitely worth a try, especially for those looking for a halal steak option in Glasgow.
Deco is billionaire kitsch with a splash of cozy. I don’t mind it. I’ve seen worse
For the meal I had marrow and a lamb steak(first time). Marrow was great, the garlic and chili nicely complimenting the fatty dish, equal parts indulgent, regret and a wish for coronary blockage. I’m not convinced with the lamb steak though. Ordered mine medium but it definitely came medium well. It’s one of those thin cut steaks, hard to get a proper sear outside without drying up the inside too. I’m no grill master but if you can’t do it right best not to offer it.
Paid £35 for the two dishes which I suppose is fair(not from around here). Not a great steak experience but I am willing to try again ordering an easier cut.
The only negative was they’d ran out of desserts but it didn’t dampen our experience. Absolutely will be back next time we visit Glasgow.
Would surely return and come back for it but order more of lamb chop!
We had a fantastic visit — the steaks were cooked to perfection, tender and full of flavour. The quality of the meat really stood out, and the sauces and sides complemented everything perfectly.
I was dining with my children and was really impressed with how kid-friendly the restaurant was. The staff were patient, welcoming and made us all feel comfortable, which made the experience even better.
Great atmosphere, excellent service and top-quality food. Perfect for families as well as special occasions. We’ll definitely be back!
