My family has been coming here for years and we always stop in any time we’re passing through. The seafood is fresh and always delicious, seasoned just right. Pretty much everything on the menu is great but it’s the seafood you come here for. My favorites are the shrimp poyboy and stuffed crab platter. Dion is amazing- so sweet and attentive, and really all the waiters are amazing. The service overall is top notch. Even though we only come every few months they always remember us and take great care of us. It’s the kind of service you usually have to go to a high end restaurant in a larger city to get. I highly recommend the Mohawk!

Don’t let the outside fool you—we had a great meal and excellent service at Mohawk Seafood Tavern. This family-owned spot has a welcoming, laid-back feel, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The fresh oysters were spot on, and everything we ordered was well prepared and flavorful. Glad we ended up here and would definitely come back.

Love the chill vibe. The food was excellent. Liked that the stuffed crab was not mini like at some of the other seafood places. Oysters were delicious. Catfish was nice big fillets. Highly recommend.

Ask for Lee. He will get your order right, make sure you are okay without intruding, and won’t rush you to flip the table. Gumbo is classic Louisiana. It’s flavorful but not spicy. Best Bloody Mary’s anywhere – been making them the same way since before I was born. Atmosphere is – well- tavern-like!

The restaurant felt the atmosphere and spirit of antiquity and the sea… The dishes were delicious, the service was unobtrusive, and the walls around were reminiscent of a maritime theme. no wifi! The staff is AMAZING! The food is delicious and has that old fashion twist to it. I loved the food but the staff brought it home for me! They were very friendly, thoughtful, and great listeners. We have small kids and the waiter acknowledged them and asked them what they would like to eat. The waiter listened to them and was very patient. As a mother this stole my heart because small children are sometimes overlooked and don’t get the chance to order independently due to waiters or parents lack of patience.Thank y’all for making my night!

I wanted so badly for this place to be a good experience. And while the waiter, food and old-school decor were all as advertised unfortunately the experience was soured by a couple of people behind the bar at some sort of desk area right there in plain sight. Those two just seemed to be complaining to one another about almost everything and it made for a very negative experience from a customer experience standpoint.
I probably won’t go back and definitely would not recommend anyone to go to a place that’s ‘leadership’ seems to carry themselves that way.

Our meal looked wonderful and I feel it would have tasted better if it had not been cold. Fridays are busy, I know, but three tables that came in long after we did were served long before us. I was sorely disappointed, as I had high hopes for a delicious seafood lunch beforehand.
