Good restaurant close to the center. The service was perfect. They are very generous in the portions and have variety of options. The prices are very fair (not expensive at all). Recommended

French food in Chiang Mai! Active and talkative staff, kind owner. Can park at the parking lot next to the restaurant, and get the free parking ticket from staff.

Excellent French restaurant. Everything is superb in here: the interior design, the food, the service, the wine… We came very late. But they let us finish our wine and food without pushing us at all. I had the steak while my girlfriend went for salmon. Both were very nice. Even though they brought the wrong sauce for the fish. But it was still great.

The drink menu is very nice too. And even the music is pleasant. Definitely a place to go for a nice night out.

I had lunch at La Terrasse French Bistro and it turned into one of those meals where you keep smiling between bites. I started with the Parisian salad and the pate on toast, and both tasted like they flew in straight from France with tiny passports. Then came the beef bourguignon, and wow, it was tender and deeply flavorful, like it had been slow cooked with love and maybe a pep talk from a French grandma. The mashed potatoes were silky and perfect with it.

I finished with their homemade vanilla ice cream with rum raisin, and yes, there was actual rum in there. Let’s just say it was the kind of dessert that makes you sit back and go, well this is happiness.

The place feels cozy and classic, almost like you wandered into a little Paris corner in Chiang Mai. The staff was warm and welcoming, the kind of service that makes you feel taken care of without fuss.

If you want a long, relaxing French lunch that tastes amazing from start to finish, this is the spot. I’m already thinking about what to try next. 🙂

Tres Magnifique

Hidden away in plain site. This is without a shadow of a doubt the finest French cuisine in Chiang Mai.

I was truly astounded by the authenticity of this understated establishment in a serene garden setting in the Old Town part of the city.

The food was presented better than most Michelin star restaurant which shows the pride the owner and chef has for French cuisine.

An extensive menu is complimented by exceptional service from a waiter that has a thorough knowledge of French cuisine and is genuinely friendly as well as helpful.

Transport yourself from Chiang Mai to Paris in an instant and savour the ambience of authentic French dining within the tastefully decorated restaurant.

A delight for all your senses at a reasonable price considering the authenticity as well as quality of the entire dining experience…

A slice of France in Chiang Mai. We loved our meals. I recommend the flank steak w/ shallots or the Sole w/ creamy lemon sauce. Delicious fresh baked bread and good service. A hidden gem!

Edit: We’ve been again to La Terrasse. Still amazing. The cheese platter is huge, all the cheese are imported and of high quality, I enjoyed any of them. My wife had a “Magret de canard” foie gras sauce, the best we never had! Not to mention the oysters, fresh and imported from Oléron.
This restaurant deserves 6 stars … a least !

Le Terrasse is without doubt our favourite French restaurant in Chiang Mai. We went there to discover raclette, and what a discovery it was. The chef doesn’t skimp on quantity, and the cheese and charcuterie dishes were absolutely gorgeous and delicious. It’s impossible to go wrong, La Terrasse never lets you down and keeps all its promises of quality and conviviality,
it really exceeded all our expectations

Lovely place with an equally wonderful vibe.
The go to place if you’re looking for something authentic and amazing Italian- French cuisine.
The chef who I believe was also the owner of this restaurant catered to and went all out considering our dietary restrictions.
He ensured to make the food best to suit our palate, and more importantly, that we enjoyed every bite.
Right from the tomato soup (be careful when ordering cause the quantity is sufficient for 3 people and quite filling as well )
The pasta was el Dante and very tasty.
They serve a complimentary serving of bread with butter, so order mindfully.
The servings are very filling

Not only this place is in my opinion the best French restaurant in Chiang Mai, but it might also be the best or one of the best in whole Thailand!

I’ve tried the food here at several occasions and I’ve been impressed with the quality and taste of the dishes every single time.

Steaks melt in your mouth and are cooked to perfection, portions are super generous, sides, starters, desserts, everything is so delicious.

You have to come experience this for yourself. This is the most authentic delicious French food you can find in Chiang Mai with the real flavors of French homemade cuisine. ❤️

Went for lunch last time I was in CM. Ordered the steak tartare which was excellent and a nice portion. There was an extensive wine selection, though I’m not much of a wine guy myself. I had a simple gin and tonic which hit the spot considering the time of day. The chef came out to see if I enjoyed the food as I was the only person in the dining room for a late lunch.

The decor was what you expect for a French bistro. The restaurant was tucked away from the road so it was nice and quiet. All in all a great experience and one of the best French restaurants in CM, definitely worth a visit if you’re bored with Thai food or want great wine.
