The waitresses were some of the best waitresses we ever had. Price for what we received was on point. The ships go right by. I would highly recommend this bar and I will return. We had a group of 14 and they were very on top of all of my seniors needs.

What an incredible place to visit for a relaxing afternoon to eat food, have drinks and enjoy the view of boats going down the river. The waitresses were incredibly friendly and attentive. Tons of great drink options and good food. Definitely recommend riding a bike up and enjoying the view. We cannot wait until our next chance to come visit the island and this great restaurant.

First time here. Night time. Great Rueben Sandwich. In house cooked corned beef a plus. Christine took the time to talk with us, gave us some great ideas for things to do on the island, and pointed out the Freighters with all their lights on floating past the bar outside (great view). Good experience. You can tell it’s a popular local’s hang out. Lots of laughter and conversations going on in a positive way.

What a bummer! We got our seat and drinks right away. I ordered an appetizer and the waitress said she would be right back. We waited and waited, watched her wait on others. I finally yelled across the tables if we could get our order taken. She said I put your appetizer in, I will be right back. We had to wait to order until we got our appetizer?!?? What?!? 1/2 hour to order! Then my Grandsons burger was medium rare, and I didn’t notice until he was 1/2 way into it. Made sense why mine was overcooked. My husband couldn’t eat his corned beef because it was too salty. He’s not one to complain. When the waitress asked if we wanted a box for my Grandson’s burger and I said no it’s underdone… she said nothing. $50+ better spent elsewhere. Such a disappointment. The poutine was good if you don’t mind shredded cheese.

Glad San Souci Bar is open again! Even though all new inside, it still looks like the original bar… just nicer! Large selection of nice wines and spirits too, plenty of TVs scattered around for sports.

We started with nachos and after enjoying about half of them realized the new chef forgot to add the tomatoes & lettuce. The bartender offered to quickly remedy, but the chips and base was very good so included the photo! Looking forward to coming back again soon.

Sunday afternoon we walked in to a relatively empty restaurant minus 1 large table of 16 people. We sat outside and decided to do drinks and appetizers so it would be quick for our toddler. It took 20 minutes for our drink order to come – we got chocolate milk, 1 beer and 1 Arnold Palmer. We placed our order for 1 bowl of soup, loaded tots & mozzarella sticks thinking that would go fast since it’s literally just soup and fried food. Soup came out immediately scalding hot. It took forever to cool down even with ice being added and didn’t taste like much. After 40 minutes (now an hour total of being there waiting) my husband asked for our bill. The waitress apologized and she went and got the manager, who walked out our appetizers after a few more minutes. I told her we needed to go and we simply wanted the bill: my husband had already taken our toddler to the car. The female managers immediate response was “well I’m not throwing this out, there’s nothing wrong with it.” I told her “that’s fine, we don’t want it – we’re leaving – we’ve been here an hour.” She proceeded to argue with me saying it was only “42 minutes from the time the ticket got put in” which I pointed out was AFTER we had already waited the 20 minutes for our 3 drinks and to get that ticket written up by the waitress. She didn’t like that I had the exact timestamp because when we first got there I took a picture of my toddler by a boat. She proceeded to say “well we’re a busy popular restaurant and a table of 16 is ahead of you” and I finally just told her “I’m not arguing with you anymore, bring some boxes and the bill”. The table across from us had just got their food and they were shocked that it took so long for just soup & 2 appetizers. To quote the other customer “wow that’s crazy, you didn’t even get real food.” YUP! EXACTLY! We paid and left. She had spilt the ranch all over 2 of the mozzarella sticks when she set them down on the table so they got soggy, and there were no lids for the sauces so it just spilt more once in the car. We ended up just tossing it all in the trash – such a waste. If this was a new issue it would be one thing but every year we go visit Harsens and for the last 2 or 3 visits they’ve either forgotten about us (yes that actually happened once) or taken forever to service us. I can tell you we won’t be going back again – I’m done. The thing that really bugs me is I didn’t ask for free food, or for the food to come off my bill, or even for a discount. I simply asked for my bill to pay it and leave. She assumed I wanted out of that cost: she came with the bad attitude and defensiveness, which I was happy to return after having been made to wait that long. I’m sure the owner will defend themselves here but as someone who has consistently had issues with service time and even once was completely forgotten by our waitress, I know it’s not just a fluke.

Spent 50$ on two sandwiches and two sides to go-they ran out of boxes so they packed them in pizza boxes when we get home the Berger and cheese that mind you was more because it’s pepper jack were stuck to the top not a big deal called them to let them know and the reply was well you want to come up here and get more cheese… I’d like you to have the proper to go packages so my food I payed an arm and leg for don’t taste like cardboard.. sad this place used to be great.
