Lovely, quaint side-of-the-road seasonal drive-in/diner/burger joint. There are number of burger and hot dog variations on the menu and a wide selection of ice cream flavors to dine-in or take out. Very friendly service. I really love stopping by these kinds of establishments!

Original Review: We have been waiting all winter for this place to open, only to be extremely disappointed. First, and most importantly, the French fries are not the same. We have always traveled an hour just to get the French fries. They were the best. But the French fries are not the same. These were fatter and not crispy. Second, the way they now package to go orders is horrible. The sandwiches used to be wrapped in paper, and the fries in a bag. Now they came in the styrofoam containers. This cannot be more cost effective for the restaurant, and we hate throwing styrofoam in the garbage. Recycling will not take it.

This use to be one of our favorite have to stop spots when we drove by, but unfortunately it will no longer be a stopping spot for my family.
The last several times the service has been extremely slow, in fact this last time it took over 15 minutes, after we placed our order, to get our ice cream cone and dish. It didn’t matter how busy they were or weren’t the wait time is ridiculous.
Also I understand the cost of operations and supplies are higher but the quality and quantity of the service and food shouldn’t suffer with those price increases.
A positive is the building is a lot cleaner now after their renovation.

Stopped at Old White’s Drive In this afternoon. Food was delicious and service is always very good. They added some really nice outdoor seating for added fun. They also have an outdoor shelter area for eating to enjoy some shade or staying dry in a light rain. We stop whenever we have the opportunity.

Hamburgers have changed. I don’t think they are “fresh” made anymore. I think they are frozen sad. I used to love those fresh hand patties burgers. Fries were still good and, of course, the ice cream, too.

Part of summer is going to White’s Drive In. Food and service was okay. They didn’t let us know when our order was ready. I remember years ago they had Blue Wolf perform there. They should get The James River Bluegrass Band to play a concert there. Might want to get rid of this broken bench or fix it.
