Not a fancy place by any means but the bar area looks nice enough. The fine print of the menu shows that you need a pound of seafood for a boil though the menu lists half-pound as an option. This led to my confusion and a server attitude. Hush puppies were on point, the raw oysters as hoped but the steamed bag of black mussels, shrimp, potatoes and small corn on cob was meh. You definitely won’t mistake it for Crabshack Joe’s.

Visited this restaurant while visiting Cincinnati. It was for lunch The waitress was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu and helped me with a sauce to accommodate my palate.

My husband started with the mozzarella sticks which were typical but tasty. He had the fried catfish patter which came with 4 pieces and a side.

I ordered steamed shrimp and mussels. The side was corn on the cob and it was freshly shucked. I got the sauce on the side for health purposes.

Everything was fresh and tasty.

In Florida, they offer specials to grab a taste of different seafood for reasonable prices, but here that wasn’t an option. Nevertheless, all was good and worth the price.

Sorry. I was so hungry I forgot to take pictures of the entree

I really used to love this place, so much so I gave it a retry 3 separate times. Unfortunately it’s a no for me. I got the seafood boil with crab and headless shrimp. One time I got Cajun and buttery garlic and the other 2 times just buttery garlic. It was extremely salty, to the point where I contemplated finishing it, but for the money spent I had to. The crab was overcooked and rubbery. When I went to crack the crab legs they just bent, they did not do the signature “crack”. And this was my experience multiple times. I am so sad because now I will have to find a new spot or just make it at home. Not sure what’s changed but has definitely gone down hill.

This place knows what it’s doing. The seafood was fresh, cooked right, and seasoned exactly how a crab boil should be; bold without being over the top. Everything came out hot, messy and packed with flavor.

The crab cracked clean, the shrimp were perfectly cooked, and the potatoes and corn pulled their weight. The sauce was balanced; garlic, spice, and butter working together instead of fighting for attention.

Service was solid and easygoing. Orders came out quickly, staff checked in without hovering, and the overall vibe was relaxed. No pressure to be fancy; just sit down, eat, and enjoy.

I came in hungry and left victorious, humbled, and smelling like seafood in the best possible way. If you don’t need a nap afterward, you didn’t do it right. Highly recommend; bring friends, bring wipes, leave your pride at the door and be prepared to surrender to the experience.

We ordered the shrimp and catfish baskets along with Gumbo. They need to redo the recipe for Gumbo. It needs salt and flavor. It is not Gumbo, at best a broth with vegetables. The shrimp and catfish need seasoning as well. Would I recommend, no. Others were getting the seafood boils. They might be good.

We had wanted to eat here for a while. Totally disappointed. Took the server close to 10 minutes to take our drink order… there were only 3 tables with people at them. We ordered a dozen steamed oysters for starters, they showed up cold with the meal and they were horrible, We only at a couple and the server never recognized we didn’t eat them. The basket was just over deep fried frozen fish. The king crab leg was very small.

Husnad and I went to crafty crab in Kenwood, Ohio for a random Friday night, easy date. We have been here before and enjoyed the food very much. Staff is usually very pleasant and helpful. However, it has been a while since we visited. This restaurant opened several years ago in our neighborhood and it was nice to see something so different and having lived on the east coast years ago, we were excited to see a place with a great seafood broil. Despite the sun faded posters and decals on the front of the building, we have always decided to choose this as a quick date night without the kids. However, I hope their bathroom does not reflect the state of the cleanliness of their kitchen. Clearly meals that splatter butter and seasoning is a thing here, but there holder for napkins was “crusty“ for sure. looking past this, we still ordered in the food and it was was acceptable. We ordered the mixed broil, mild seasoning in the small order for the two of us. With a side of hush puppies. This was plenty for two of us. Then I used the bathroom… I was appalled. I was met with dirty, fingerprinted walls, stall doors and disgusting surrounding areas, including the sink and flusher button. I understand that rating a bathroom in a restaurant maybe taboo. However, when it comes to a restaurant, I can only assume that the attention to detail on the serving area is given the same amount of attention as the bathroom. Sadly, the state of the bathroom and several items in the store has been enough to make us not return to the crafty crab in Kenwood.

This is our favorite seafood boil restaurant in Cincinnati. Staff is attentive, food is delicious, never had to wait for a table. Tip: get the hush puppies

6 of us went and we saw a sign on the door that said groups of 5 and more will be charge an 18% service fee, thinking of course the waitress should get this. But NO the 18% is to sit at the table, just to order food and let them cook it for you and make money off of me dining at their restaurant. My charge was close to $22.00. How prejudice is that, I can have a family of 4 but if I dare have another child I will pay them to sit at their table. Also I can only have 3 friends. This might be why the place was near empty.

We ordered 1 lobster tail, 1/2lb of crawfish and 1lb of shrimp with cajun seasoning (medium for the spice level) and we also got 2 sides of rice.
It was okay! The seasoning was overpowering the flavor, and the lobster tail was smaller than other places.
