Had a great time tonight. We are from out of town, but visit Milwaukee often. The pizza is absolutely amazing!! Alex was the best bartender! We chatted with locals who made us feel so welcomed! We will definitely make this a stop every time we are in the area!!!

Excellent Pizza for lunch after our Froedtert visit. We walked in and were met with a smile and How are ya? It’s very clean, nice stools, pretty tile floors, nice bathroom. Made new friends and we will be visiting again ! Thank you Happy Tap!

The staff are friendly and the food is good and affordable. Most simplified menu i have ever seen. Barkeeper gave my little girl a $1 for duck machine.

We have been going to Happy Tap for years. Usually on New years eve we stop in for drinks and something to eat. Today we stopped there, must have missed the sign on the door that the kitchen was closed. Ooops? When my husband asked if we could get a pretzel, the big Burley bartender said didn’t you read the sign? Kind of rude, not sure if we’ll be back. Too bad, the food is really good there. Things have changed there.

The “Moldy Tap” Service Experience
Based on local lore and common gripes from non-regulars, here’s the usual “review” of the staff:
The “Regulars Only” Club: There is a very real vibe that if you haven’t been sitting on that same stool since 1994, you are a secondary citizen. The bartender will often prioritize chatting with a regular about their lawn over serving a new customer standing right in front of them.
The Power Trip: Some of the staff there are known for being “efficiently surly.” They don’t do “service with a smile.” In fact, if you ask too many questions or—God forbid—ask for a menu, you might get a look that suggests you’ve just asked for their firstborn.
Selective Hearing: It’s a common complaint that the staff can be “absent-minded” or flat-out inattentive to anyone they don’t know, making the process of just getting a beer feel like an endurance test.
The “Hostile” Vibe: There have even been more serious allegations on local forums (like Reddit’s r/milwaukee) about staff being actively dismissive or even discriminatory toward people who don’t fit the “townie” mold.

Looks decent upon arrival but the review is pacific to there slot machine. Haunted reels 2 on the far left is so absolutely rigged. 140$ and the most I got back was 10$ 1$ bets to 2$ bets always netted me 0.60$ to 0.80$ cents. Because of that reason I will never be going here again. Can someone get a Wisconsin official to check pay rates? I been to many slots and this by far feels like 20% pay back. Seriously though I been doing slots for years and never have I had one eat my money. I might as well went in and payed them 140$ and walked out.. that’s how bad there machines are.

Heard the pizza was amazing, ordered the cheesy garlic bread it was good, got a pizza asked for it crispy. The edges were but the bottom of the crust wasn’t. Pizza was just ok.

I have been here a few times, usually around 930/10pm. I come for the late night pizza and beer! It’s usually a great time and the pizza is damn good. Other than the sometimes questionable conversations, it’s a fantastic place for late night eats.

The bar was full during happy hour on a Friday afternoon but found 2 seats. The one bar tender was very busy but she was very good. I ordered a thin crust pizza which is what they serve. It was sausage, green pepper, and mushroom. It took a while to get since they were busy and other people ordered pizza also.
I ate it there to get the full effect. My wife thought the outer crust was a little dark but I thought it was fine. The pizza was crispy throughout with ample ingredients. It was one of the best pizzas I ever ate!
