Fun place! Amazing fries! Definitely recommend. These are some of the best fries I’ve ever had. The seats at the bar were super comfortable, service was great. Really enjoyed my visit. Chicken breast was a bit small but that was my only complaint – everything tasted quite good!!

We got here before the ND crowd started leaving the game so we were able to snag a couple bar seats no problem. I ordered the chili cheese fries which were really good and would highly recommend. The buttermilk Cobb salad was a descent portion but I would pass on it next time as it was a bit bland tasting (herb ranch dressing was weak tasting). My wife ordered the angry Mac n cheese which we have ordered for years still as tasty as ever. Has a bit of heat to it and never disappoints. Also ordered the Chicken Nachos (w/out bbq) and was worth the price. The queso Bru uses is really good. For desert ordered a chocolate shake but tastes a lot of syrup so probably wouldn’t order it again.

We stopped in here for a late lunch / early dinner after visiting Notre Dame for the day and we were not disappointed. I had the Mushroom & Swiss burger and it was honestly the best burger I have had in awhile. My son had a chicken sandwich, and likewise he really enjoyed it. Great spot in the middle of town and very close to campus.

Staff was friendly. The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxing. The menu offered something gor every palate. I love how you can build your own snack burger. The Bru fries were amazing! Definitely will eat there again. Side note: although I enjoyed the vibe of the location, its alittle too tight around game day for me.

If you like overcooked burgers, and lazy, inattentive bar staff, then this is the place for you!! Also look at how much grease is dripping from this burger…maybe the staff adds extra grease to hide the unbearably dry burger underneath? I am new to town and wanted to try it out because the ambience seemed nice but everything else was a let down.

We were ‘greeted’ by a very rude girl who sat us in front of the kitchen. When we asked to be seated at one of the many other open tables she rudely picked up the menus and walked to another part of the restaurant without even asking us to follow her. She was clearly very put out’ by our request not to want to sit near the kitchen door. We waited forever to be served while all the employees were just standing around talking to each other (see picture taken from our table while we waited forever for our server). Our waiter was sweeping under our table while we were eating. The help is atrocious! Rude. Young. Untrained. Oh…did I mention rude. RUDE!!!!!!

The wait staff was marvelous.. I thoroughly enjoyed the bru burger and fries. My son got the black bean burger, he said it’s one of the best that he’s ever eaten.. I really liked the their homemade ketchup..

Made reservations with the manager, Bill. He was super helpful and positive about accommodating our youth hockey team and families that were heading in town for the weekend. The service was top notch and the waitresses couldn’t have been nicer! Appreciate the welcoming vibe, seamless service and great food!

This restaurant left me extremely disappointed. I asked a simple question about the wine, and the staff member made it clear she thought it was a dumb question. Even so, it could have been answered kindly and professionally.

When I asked if I had said something to upset her, she scolded me, said the two options I asked about were the same, and walked away. I was left feeling embarrassed and dismissed.

There was no reason for the interaction to be handled that way, and I won’t be returning. If you’re looking for a welcoming happy hour nearby, Sidebar has far better customer service and a better atmosphere.

This experience was bad the moment we walked in. Looking back, I wish we would’ve walked out. Instead, we stayed, and I paid $106 for my family of 3 to have one of the most disappointing lunches ever. The 3 hostesses seemed annoyed we were there, claimed there was a 20 minute wait, even though we could see empty tables. The manager came over, reprimanded them for something, then we were immediately sat down and they continued scrolling on their phones. 2 burgers, one salad ($16+$6 add chicken) one order of non seasoned onion rings, $106. My husband’s garlic cheese burger was served with FOUR whole pieces of garlic shoved in the middle of the cheese. Gross. My salad, that I paid $22 for, had pieces of rotten lettuce in it. The candied pecans were decent, that’s it. The Mac and cheese sides were watery and def not worth the $6 up-charge. (no sandwich comes with any side). You can’t charge astronomical prices for barely mediocre food just because you’re located next to Notre Dame. In fact, quite the opposite. People from all over the world frequent the ND area looking for food, and quite frankly you’re just leaving a bad taste in their mouths, while taking up prime real estate. I could tell this place was struggling when I saw the manager working harder than everyone combined. Why is she sweating bussing tables? You can’t afford bussers when you charge $23 for a burger and fries? Bad vibes all around.
