Been a little curious about trying this place, today was the day. Should’ve checked the reviews. Just rename this Chicken Shack because Harold’s it’s NOT!! I see the potential but quality is just not there.

There were a few car’s in the lot (different but encouraging). There’s a kiosk which was nice but kind of useless as you can’t see what you’re ordering. I got a lunch special, didn’t realize it didn’t come with fries. I attempted to enjoy it but just didn’t taste right at all. Ordered taffy grapes as well, why was it two orders in the trash? I see why now.
Best of luck, hopefully it gets better. I’ll pass.

Terrible Service!!!
Poor Communication- Told me he didn’t have livers until I called him back to tell him my order was incorrect.
Unprofessional- Inappropriate conversations and tried to give me his number. ( DENIED)
Overcooked food, old grease.
Super cold in the establishment.
Side note: Ordered a giblet dinner but only got gizzards. Gizzards were overcooked, couldn’t even eat them!!
Charged $21 and didn’t even get my order correct. Nor did he communicate with me that they didn’t have livers. Just charged me for a Giblet. Instead of communicating with me. He was just trying to make sales clearly. My mom fish was fishy and certain pieces wasn’t edible. TRASH!!!! DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!

If you’re anywhere near Hammond, Indiana and craving real-deal chicken done right, do yourself a favor and stop by Harold’s Chicken. This location truly stands out—not just for the food, but for the people behind it.

First off, the freshness of the food was outstanding. Everything in my order was hot, perfectly cooked, and tasted like it was made right then and there. The chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and seasoned just right. No shortcuts were taken, no sitting under heat lamps or a basket of wings perched over the fryer.

Even more impressive was the accuracy of my order. After a long drive into town from Memphis, Tennessee, the last thing anyone wants is a mix-up. But everything was correct down to the smallest detail. That kind of attention shows real care.

What truly set this experience apart, though, was the exceptional customer service from Lisa and her sister. They were welcoming, patient, and genuinely kind from the moment I walked in. The fact that they stayed open past their normal closing hours just to accommodate me as I was getting into town speaks volumes about their character and dedication. That level of hospitality is rare and deeply appreciated.

Lisa and her sister don’t just run a restaurant—they create an experience. Great food is one thing, but combining it with accuracy, warmth, and a willingness to go above and beyond is what builds loyal customers.

Thank you for making my first stop in Hammond such a memorable one. I’ll definitely be back!

I walked in and there was water on the floor with the yellow caution sign present but I never saw any water leaking. I ordered the 3 dark special and small fry with mild sauce on everything. When I got home I noticed I barely had enough sauce on my chicken and it was fried extremely soft. Once I bit into the thigh I noticed a nice area that was pink. I was too outdone. That was $9.70 I could’ve spent elsewhere. The gentleman was nice but seems like I can never find any decent food in Hammond. Definitely not the Harolds that I’m accustomed too either. Whoever the lady is my neighbor told bout needs to check on her business cause her workers will run her clean out real quick.

I go here every blue moon for food and it wasn’t bad then but tonight is my very last time patronizing this business . I had to go back in to have my gizzards remade because they were very hard . And even with them being remade I got an even worse batch the 2nd time . Never again . I’ve tried giving this place a chance but now I see why they never have business .

Waited 45 minutes for overcooked tiny shrimp that cost $19.75. They gave me wings instead of tenders. First time there and it will be the last time. Never again!

The food is always delicious and cooked very well every time I go. As long as I see Ms. Lisa at the register and the lady (sorry i don’t know her name) is back there cooking………..I know the service is gonna be great.

It’s only on point if the woman is working in there! If you walk in and see the guy, just walk out! He will serve you little old wings with very little sauce on them. The fries are also not right. They come off as homemade that were fried the previous day with only about 8 of them in the bottom corner of the basket. Definitely not the Harold’s way.
