This is my new favorite Thai restaurant in town! I cannot recommend the Swimming Angels enough! Everything we ate was fresh and packed a flavorful punch! Our server was fantastic and fun! Price point was more like $15-20 a plate but portion sizes were enough for us to take home leftovers! We were all very happy and cannot wait to come back the next time we get a Thai craving! There’s paid street parking but about a block away is the Chemeketa Parkade and it’s free!

After visiting Silver Falls State Park, I came here for dinner. I ordered the appetizer sampler, which had a generally pleasant taste, and the sauces were quite good.
However, the Tom Yum noodles had a localized flavor that differed significantly from the authentic taste. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to those who have tried Thai food in its original setting.

My MOST favorite restaurant of all! The Tofu Pad Thai is ammaazziinngg ❤️ I love the Iced Thai Tea as well. Every time I have an appointment at OHSU I *always* eat here before I head home. I absolutely love that my take home food order is completely sealed in the container!! The staff is very nice!

Located downtown Salem. Walking distance to other attractions. Friendly staff and very cozy environment. Food was delicious and more than enough portions. We tried their appetizer sampler, Thai Orchid Curry, and the Mussaman Curry with Lamb. The lamb was so flavorful , slow braised , and tender. Everything cook to perfection. We really enjoyed our time there. Very welcoming experience. Highly recommend.

First-timer for their dine-in experience, and a recent caller for delivery. Quality doesn’t disappoint, and the options I ordered were both flavorful, fresh, and plentiful. Highly recommend either their sweet Thai tea or their Thai coffee; be aware, their coffee is especially sweet!

Their dining room area is spacious, with enough seating lining the (as you enter) right side of the interior. It feels like they could add more seating, but that might begin to make things feel more crowded. Totally okay if they kept seating volume where it is.

Friendly staff round out what should be a pleasant venue for delicious Thai cuisine. Highly recommended. Theirs adds to the richness of ethnic foodie options available to Salem. I expect to return to try their chicken satay and peanut sauce!

I have been eating at this establishment for over 8 years. There is no other Thai restaurant that comes close to the Cooks and the Staff at Thai Orchid ! This place is the best from the beginning to the end. Including the to go packages.

The Pineapple fried rice was very delicious. A slight bit of heat, but not too hot. The flavors was great, personally I think there could have been more raisins in it, that’s my personal opinion though. I had mine with beef.

I would recommend it.

Overall, in my opinion, maybe the prices are a bit higher than expected. But the food is delicious.

Service was good, always room for improvement.. otherwise, they were polite and helpful..

We were in town for a show at the Elsinore tonight. Our first choice for dinner was closed (Monday). So we began to look around to see what was available. We drove by this friendly, inviting-looking restaurant and thought to try it.

The service was satisfactory. But we were disappointed with the food overall. My companion ordered one of her favorite Thai dishes (Pra Ram), and it was (in her words) “not a good version.” The chicken resembled deli-sliced meat in a pale, tasteless sauce. I ordered the Lemongrass Chicken and was served something the server called Spicy Chicken. It was not spicy. The vegetables were bright and colorful but were swimming in a greasy, slightly burnt-tasting sauce.

Was the place having an off night? But in times like these, the restaurant needs to make an effort to WOW on the first visit. Likely, we will not go back again.

Really not a good dining experience. The food was terrible. My drunken noodles, I was absolutely convinced was Pad Se Eew because it had absolutely no flavor at all. Even if it was it would have been a terrible rendition. The waitress said no, that’s how it comes. Dry noodles with some broccoli bean sprouts, overcooked beef and like four pieces of Basil. No spice, no peppers, no onions, no sauce.
My boyfriend got Curry. He said it was the worst Curry he’s ever had. It was basically just a bunch of lightly cooked green beans and very soupy sauce that had no spice to it and very little flavor with literally the smallest portion of chicken anybody could get away with.
There was two other diners the entire hour that we were in the restaurant on a Thursday afternoon at lunch time. The three waitresses were aloof and seemed like it was pretty normal that people didn’t like the food. My noodles literally had black marks where they had been burnt and you could taste the char. The decor is just plain, mostly white. Nothing interesting or creative except for a bunch of pots with some fake Vines around them. This feels like one of those places you come if you work in the immediate vicinity and you have like four options. I won’t be coming back here. They never even offered to refill my lemonade.

Had the pleasure of trying this spot while in town for a graduation. Caleb and the rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful despite it being near closing and us adding cream sodas to the order upon arrival. We phoned in an order of crab fried rice, drunken noodles, yellow curry, and pad thai. The crab fried rice was definitely the highlight but everything else was very good. Portion size was great as well! It fed a group of 6 with leftovers to spare.

Our group was pleasantly surprised at how good their new cream sodas were. The cute soda artwork drawn on the establishment’s window panes were so well done we had to try them. We ordered peach, melon, strawberry, and orange with our favorite being the melon which was reminiscent of the OG Melona (iykyk).

Would happily drop by again if we’re ever in the area!
