I’ve eaten various dishes at Maria’s and here’s what I’ll say. For the breakfast tacos the portions are very good. You can fill up on one taco and the price is fair. The barbacoa is my go-to order. It is not greasy but not dry either. Like another reviewer mentioned it almost tastes like roast rather than cachete but the owner says it is cachete. It just lacks the deep barbacoa flavor. Maybe a bit more salt to bring out the flavor or change vendors? The chorizo and egg is good but rather bland. I don’t remember how they make their potato and egg tacos but for bacon and egg they simply put strips of bacon on top of the egg. I’m sorry but that’s not how Mama made breakfast tacos. She mixed the bacon with the egg! It’s a 4-star breakfast taco joint that could be 5-star with just a few tweaks!

Not the type to ever complain I would’ve left a 5 star. Although waiter was nice, there was a hair in 2 of our 3 plates. Made us pay for the meals full price anyway. Didn’t even finish eating my plate after I seen the hair. Again, discount would’ve been fine or something. Not free drinks. Sorry

Had breakfast tacos. Barbacoa was suspicious. Most likely made with beef roast rather than Cabeza. Didnt taste like cheek meat ( cachete ). Bacon, egg and beans taco was good. Their red salsa tasted like it came from a jar.
In any case tacos were of decent size and well filled.
Service couldn’t have been better!
They were quick, friendly and efficient.

I was on the way home from Austin and wanted to stop to eat breakfast so found this little spot. It was nice inside but to get someone to take the order was long. After we ordered it was over 30 minutes to get the food. All we got were breakfast tacos and pancakes and a barbacoa plate. After sitting there for 30 minutes then we asked if we wanted chips and salsa. And the chips were not a lot for 4 people to eat from. When food came out it was delicious and flavorful but not the potato they were over cooked. Overall this place has good food and I will be coming back when I go out of town again I just have to make sure I am in no hurry to get nowhere.

First time there. I got the Carmel iced coffee and tres leches French toast and it was delicious! My husband got the Buffett and said it was fantastic. We will be back!

Stopped here to get some tacos on the way out of town. The huevo la mexicana lacked flavor. Very confused how it has everything mixed in but had zero flavor. They don’t seem to season the food I’m guessing because the papa bean and egg felt the same way for my boyfriend. However we did like the barbacoa. Didn’t bother to eat the tortillas as they were huge and seemed undercooked. $22 for 5 tacos is a lot but I guess because they are big is why? Not worth it.

I tried the Mexican Mocha Iced Coffee and it was so good! I also had the Tres Leches French Toast and my friend had the Berry Waffle and everything was perfect and exactly what we were craving. They had such kind service. We enjoyed sitting on the patio as it is pet friendly. I highly recommend.

Stop by on our to San Antonio. The place seem quaint and pleasing. It was not overly crowded. No one welcomed us in. The waitress who did come to our table didn’t seem friendly or eager to share what this place had to offer. We opted for the buffet big MISTAKE!! The pancakes were hard as rock literally. The heat on the buffet line was too hot we couldn’t barely touch the tongs to serve. Everything was tasteless! The coffee however, was great and if it wasn’t for that I wouldn’t have anything good to say. The tea was a diabetic nightmare beyond sweet and I love sweet tea! So that is saying alot. The place is beautiful and was clean, but staff could be more informative and available. The chef needs to find his/her passion again. This place has potential but at this rate not sure. The price was somewhat fair but a bit over priced for what the buffet has to offer. In my 44yrs i have never felt the need to write a review or leave a tip but this was by far a loss of $113. I should have read the reviews before entering these doors as everything i read was pretty much exactly how my family and I felt. Even as I requested softer pancakes (as I tapped the table with my rock hard pancake) she didn’t even offer an apology or a suttle apologetic smile. Seem like it was a norm that the food was mediocre. Hope that the owner see this i use this as informative and helpful to better equip his/ her staff as at the end of the day this is their livelihood they are crossing. Good luck!!!

The woman who took our order made it clear working with us was the worst thing that could possibly take place in her work day. My salad was soupy and tasteless, pic attached. Our food landed at our location 30 minutes late because they combined all the orders into random boxes instead of separating them out the way the order was placed. We had to re-box everything, causing our project to be delayed half an hour because everyone was waiting on their lunch. The only reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 is the fresh lemonade was good. Definitely will not be ordering food here again.
