Tacos and guacamole were delicious! Carnitas a little too salty, but some toppings from the bar can cancel it out. They cook chicken there and when you leave you smell like BBQ, which is why the 4 stars. Otherwise, I would return to try again.

The flame broiled chicken is the star of the menu but the other options stand out as well. The lengua tacos are a must! The only dish I wouldn’t suggest is their Catne Asada plate. Usually a Carne Asada plate is served with a couple of thick flank steaks fresh of the grill. This is not the case here. The Carne Asada plate comes with the steak chopped up in a container which is obviously not fresh off the grill, plus, it makes the meat dry. It is what it is though. Good food and good Agua frescas too! Highly recommend

Absolutely splendid all around. I got two meals for just under 20 bucks. The food was absolutely delicious and I’m insanely full thanks to the extremely generous portion sizes. Ask for Alex he provides great customer service. He gave us free samples of the agua frescas to try and even complimentary champurrado for desert. Alex is the best he deserves a raise and a big fat promotion! My friend from Jordan loved the food.

These are straight up some of the best tacos in the Portland area! We always come by this area for our grocery shopping, but we can’t do it with out squeezing in a trip to El Jefe. All of their tacos are incredible, but the chicken is soo good. Not to mention their salsa bar, which is always fresh. I’m not usually one to leave a review, but I’ve just been so happy with this place, I had too!

Casual vibes. I normally view pollo tacos as bland and requiring tons of sauce. Not here their chicken is amazing. The only place I would go for the chicken alone. Beef is what you expect and the al pastor is very flavorful. Details matter and they bring it will grilled onions, radishes and really fresh sauces. Highly recommend!

This is my first time ordering food from here, and I want to like this place because the food I ordered was not bad; it just had hair on it (see pic). I ordered the chicken plate even though I wanted the 3 pcs. pollo ranchero, but online ordering suddenly removed it and marked it “out of stock”. Anyway, my order also had quesadilla, fries, supreme El Jefe burrito, and pineapple aguas frescas. I live a good drive from this place so I’m not sure if I want to try it again. I did call the restaurant to let them know about the hair and I was given just an option of picking up a new plate tomorrow.

We usually order breakfast burritos to go but today we decided to dine in. We ordered a chicken quesadilla that came with guacamole, sour cream and salad, a carne asada burrito, Al pastor burrito and 4 queda tacos with consomé. Everything was delicious, including their salsas!!
And let’s not forget the customer service! Loved everything about our experience there today. Highly recommend!
