Modern Love is a new all-day café and cocktail lounge inside the Fairlane Hotel, formerly home to Union Teller. Created by the acclaimed restaurateurs behind Pearl Diver and Tiger Bar, Modern Love offers artisan coffee and a delicious breakfast and lunch menu by day (Early Bird) and creative craft cocktails with elevated sharable plates by night (Night Owl), all in a retro-chic modern setting filled with local art.

I stayed at the Fairlane Hotel and had breakfast, lunch and dinner. I also did a Chef’s Tasting which was truly the most special dining experience I’ve ever had. Chef Sam’s creations knocked my socks off. Here are my favorites:
-Stuffed French Toast with Peach & Blueberry compote 100 STARS
-Avocado Toast 4 stars
-Southern Latte – caramel, vanilla, espresso & bourbon salt. 5 STARS
-Thai Pumpkin Soup – 100 stars
-Sweet Corn Honey & Bourbon gelato – 5 stars

Absolutely unforgettable dining experience! Every dish was a work of art—beautifully plated and exploding with flavor. Huge shout-out to the chef for creating such incredible flavors! I got a sneak peek of the fall special, featuring the Norwegian trout vadouvan and ribeye cap/ marrow chimichurri dish, and it was pure perfection—rich, delicate, and absolutely divine. I’ll truly miss the summer menu favorites: the smoked tomato tartare, the luxurious crab rillettes, and the sweet corn agnolotti—my ultimate favorite (that sauce!! I could drink it!). Every bite was a celebration of flavor—can’t wait to see what the fall menu brings!

Beautifully designed hidden gem in Nashville, both from an atmosphere and food perspective. You can tell the entrees are carefully crafted and the chef is passionate about what he does. The pumpkin soup is an experience, the beef tip papardelle was also beyond delicious.

The food here is absolutely phenomenal! The Tomato Tartar is fresh, vibrant, and bursting with flavor — easily one of the best dishes I’ve ever tried. The corn-filled pasta is pure comfort and creativity in every bite, perfectly balanced and unforgettable. Every plate looks stunning and tastes even better. Add to that a welcoming atmosphere, great music, and fantastic drinks — this place is a true gem!

Incredible experience. They went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience. The thai pumpkin soup was incredible. The chef even came out to serve it himself. The roasted vegetable dish was another home run and the kale salad was the best I’ve had in a really long time. Can’t recommend enough.

Our fantastic server (attentive and fun); Chef Sam (culinary genius), and Modern Love’s delightful bartender (personable and thoughtful) created for us an anniversary dinner to remember at Modern Love.

The freshly baked homemade sourdough bread (from Chef’s sourdough baby “Dough-leen”), the pumpkin soup, oysters, and mushroom ravioli were incredible. To our surprise and delight, Chef Sam graced our table to wish us a happy anniversary, and present us with a beautiful gift he had created to punctuate our love and the love we felt at Modern Love!

Truly an outstanding meal by a chef who cares. Delightful personable staff. Lovely, hip atmosphere. Modern Love is a treat like no other!

Really wonderful experience! The food was delicious & the atmosphere was really great. We enjoyed several different cocktails like the “In watermelon Sugar”, “Tropic of Cancer”, “Epilogue”, and “The Giant Peach”. For food we tried the, “Charcuterie Board”, “Smoked Tomato Tartare”, “Sweet Agnolotti” and “Kohlrabi Caesar” and more. We were very happy with everything! It was obvious that a lot of thought and intention was behind every drink & dish. Looking forward to coming back!
The valet was also super kind & quick to retrieve our car. Thank you!
