This place gets ordered from a lot where I work. I had never heard of it personally but decided to give it a try. Pleasantly surprised by the feel and overall quality of the food. Restaurant is located with a John Deere location that almost adds to the vibe. Food feels like home cooked meals. Not a great amount of variety on the menu but each item earns its keep. The Johnny Popper burger I had was more than filling and very tasty. Desserts are also delicious.

When we arrived, we were unclear as to whether we should seat ourselves. When we did, all of the tables were in-bussed, so we took the cleanest one (just needed to be wiped down).
When our server came, she was friendly but didn’t ask about cleaning the table.
The food was as expected, my hamburger was large and cooked perfectly.
Overall, a great place to eat.

Always great service with home cooked flavor. Theres a weekly menu via email you can sign up for when you visit or find it in the Sunday star herald. The cost is about $10 with a drink. Breakfast is less and just as tasty, be sure to try the rye bread its fenaminal. You can place an order to go but don’t forget a slice of pie for later.

I eat at the Green Plate quite a bit, especially breakfast. It is almost always packed, but still the service is great. I have never been disappointed in a meal. Their breakfasts and lunches are equally as good. Ski the hostess, remembers your favorite order, and your name. How she does it I will never know. Wish they were open longer, but there are only 3 or employees there. Love the community atmosphere, friendliness, and food. Carol

Great service and food. My hamburger was delicious and came with a small side and some chips.
Drinks are part of the price for entrees so that is also a bonus. They close at 2pm so no late lunches.
Breakfast menu looked really good and can’t wait to come back and try that.

Had to send burger back wasn’t cooked still raw as I took my first bite. Menu is very limited to items.When it first came out bun was soggy from grease from burger patty not cooked. Sent it back still not cooked completely threw I just didn’t eat the burger. I ate my chips and potato salad. I would tell them to cook meat long not everyone like raw meat. Clean restaurant and bathroom. Not sure I would return for a meal like some different choices.
