1/31: I came back with another 2 friends to introduce them special Chef menu, the menu I am familiar with to be safe and hope it would be as excellent as it was before but again I was dissappointed so bad. No luck today still.
No way I could find same taste as I always had before. Unfortunately I will have no more confidence to come back here as I lost my trust again.
We called: Special Weekend with Roasted Prime Steak with Salt ( medium rate), steak came out cold. Tuna salad, tuna came out cold and not juicy but dry, look very dated. Korean BbQ rib with lobster tail, lobster was over cook and completely dry, rib is just ok not juicy as before. Udon with sea urchin and beef tenderloin, beef cold and stinky. Udon is in watery cream sauce.

I’m writing this review in the hope that the manager or owner of the restaurant can see my constructive feedback. I truly love this place, and because of that, I don’t want to see its quality or consistency decline. I eat here at least 3–4 times a week, for either lunch or dinner, and the food has always been excellent. That’s why I confidently recommended this restaurant to many of my colleagues from Orange County to Los Angeles.
Unfortunately, tonight (Monday, 01/26), my husband and I came for dinner and the experience was very disappointing. I was excited as usual, but the food was extremely salty—the rice, the meat, and the sauce. We tried to eat but had to give up. I asked to have it packed to go so I could adjust the flavors at home.
I ordered the Thai Beef Rice with Basil. The server brought out the tomato fried rice first without mentioning that the beef would be served separately afterward. Because the weather was cold, we had to start eating the rice while it was still hot, waiting for the beef to arrive. The rice itself was slightly salty but still acceptable. However, when the beef with egg came out, it was overwhelmingly salty.
My husband ordered his usual favorite pasta dish, but the sauce was watery and salty, completely different from how it has been on previous visits. He has never had to take this dish home, but tonight he couldn’t finish it.
I also noticed that on the days when the food tasted great, there was a chef in a white coat behind the counter. Tonight, he wasn’t there. Instead, I saw two young cooks chatting with other staff members in the back while preparing food. I’m not sure if that contributed to the decline in quality, but the taste was drastically different. I understand that different cooks may have different techniques even when following the same recipe, but the food should not vary this dramatically.
I left the restaurant feeling disappointed because the quality tonight did not reflect the wonderful meals I’ve enjoyed here before. I truly hope the restaurant can address this consistency issue, as I really want to continue supporting this place.
I also want to mention that at the end of the meal, I asked the female server who was cooking tonight because the food was unexpectedly bad. She just smiled and didn’t respond. I believe the issue happened because there was no manager on duty this evening, so I’m writing this here to make sure management is aware of what happened.

This is an OG HK style restaurant that has been around for more than 30 year. We like the nostalgia of the food and tastes. The mixed coffee/tea brings back memories of my childhood. Even today, the food is tasty and offers many of the old selections from years gone by. We had a good experience here.

Beef Egg Rice: 4/5 A Cantonese classic. It has that very savory and rich taste I was looking for and a kiss of wok fire. Thinking about it now, this has a very similar taste and texture to “lobster sauce” found in a lot of Chinese American restaurants. This dish was expertly prepared. It was just a little bland, a pinch of salt would have helped. I was really happy that they use good, fragrant jasmine rice.
Pork Lard Wonton Noodles: 2.5/5 I got this because I’m greedy, but also because this was one of their specials. Maybe because we came right before closing, but it was really bad. The soup was fishy, watery, and lukewarm. The wontons also tasted old and off for a lack of better terms. Everything was greasy in an unpleasant way. The greens and noodles were cooked well though.
Borscht: 3/5 A plain vegetable soup. Tasted tomatoey. No more notes.
Lemon Iced Tea: 2.5/5 Bland, not sweet, not lemony. It had that flavor I would expect from a Hong Kong cafe, but it was just really muted. Again, since they were closing, maybe they diluted my drink so they wouldn’t have to make a new batch, but it was really meh.
Ambiance: Casual. We caught this restaurant in a very Italian time in its life.
Service: Chinese restaurant service. Some things were fast, some things were slow, but it was efficient. Don’t expect them to be really nice haha.
Parking: This is in a plaza mall. When I came at night, there was plenty of parking but I can see it being super hectic during peak times.

Chinese food for breakfast? They got it. Western food? They got that too. And both are equally well-made, bound to satisfy the Asian American cravings My friend and I arrived around 10:30 AM and this place was PACKED. We managed to get the last open table without waiting, and I could see why this place is so popular. Shrimp omelette 10/10. Hash brown 10/10. The best part? Pancakes 200/10. These were legitimately the best, softest, fluffiest pancakes I’ve ever eaten in my life, and I normally don’t like pancakes. But I could eat all of these without syrup or sugar and it won’t feel like I’m eating a Popeye’s biscuit. So good!

The food is really good and the portions are generous. The quality of the food has been very consistent. When it is crowded simply write your name in the waiting list. Do not wander too far, as the host calls out names in the waiting list without a speaker/microphone. The menu option is extensive, there are western, eastern and fusion options in the menu. This place can easily satisfy picky eaters or satisfy various cravings. The waiters and waitresses here can understand Cantonese, Mandarin and English. Parking can be really challenging depending on the time. Pro tip, always park in the underground section. Parking is always available and there is a security person on a golfcart checking. The downside of the underground parking is that it is dark and smells weird.
