Off The Grid originated as a small food truck in St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands. Rising to popularity in the islands, OTG settled in a quaint artists’ community. Sadly, tragedy struck in 2017 when Hurricane Irma struck the USVI. We didn’t want to give up so began the new adventure of Off The Grid on Cape Cod. With the love and support of our new local family we were able to expand our roots and start the Hillport Gallery location. Finally, we found our new home and created that artist’s community we once belonged to, right here in the owner’s hometown of Sandwich, Ma.We welcome you to the Off The Grid experience.

Off the Grid is one of those places that surprises you in the best way—simple setup, but the food? Absolutely delicious.
We started with the Cajun fries, and wow—what a flavor bomb. The seasoning hits all the right notes: a little heat, a tangy zing, and just the right amount of salt. Totally addictive.
My mom went for the Bus Fries with pork. Picture those same amazing Cajun fries, piled high with juicy, flavorful pork. Every bite was a savory delight.
My dad had the bacon cheeseburger loaded with all the works. It was a hefty, generously sized burger, and he couldn’t stop talking about how good it was. No frills—just solid, satisfying flavor.
I had the Sloppy Choppy, and it lived up to its name in the best way. A messy, mouthwatering pile of tender pork, crisp coleslaw, and a sweet slice of pineapple, all nestled on top of regular fries. The textures and flavors came together beautifully.
If you’re looking for bold, satisfying comfort food, Off the Grid delivers in a big way. Don’t miss it.
Large outdoor seating area, to eat orders to go, or counter service.
Juneau ( our dog ) and I just had the pulled pork sandwich, and it was probably the best I’ve ever had in regards to the portion and taste.
Indoor eating and bar as well.
Complimentary water outside.
Apart from the mouthwatering food, the service was exceptional. The staff was friendly and attentive, which added to the overall experience. I can’t wait to return in the summer when the weather is warmer. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable and delicious meal.
But when you work in service and get bad service sometimes these things need to be said. I am a 28 year old local who has been coming to this establishment for years. I forgot my wallet one time and had a single sip of my partner’s drink and got kicked out after spending $100 for 2 people and leaving a very generous tip, even after attempting to show a picture of my license that I did not have with me since I was not driving. Very upset with the service provided despite being a regular year round customer, and it pains me to say that after being treated like that I don’t think I would ever want to return. And the worse part about it all is even with being a local regular customer and getting rude treatment, is that the taste and quality of the food have gone straight down the drain, their tacos which used to be great, look like canned shredded chicken and lacks any form of flavor
The chopped brisket was shredded like pulled pork which was a disappointing presentation and thanks to the fat content, an unappealing mushy texture. It was greasy, flavorless, and disappointing. Adding the honey bbq sauce did little to improve the experience as the sauce was bland and flavorless. The pulled pork was dry and bland, but unlike the brisket had a decent texture . The sweet potato fries were somehow simultaneously mushy, yet had burnt portions. Where things really went off the rails was the mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was flavorless and was dripping with grease. The attached picture shows the puddle that was in the bottom of the food container.
Other members of our group ordered burgers- I did not try but it was clear that grease had soaked through the entire bun on way of them. The kids hot dogs featured soggy, untoasted buns and shriveled, unappealing hot dogs. The only item that looked or tasted decent were the regular fries. They were crisp albiet a little greasy.
The ambience was so so. The layout leaves much to be desired. The majority of the tables are on uneven ground and are sloped enough that food tends slide on the table and it is uncomfortable to sit.
We had been excited to try this place after hearing rave reviews from family members, but after this visit, we will definitely not return.
