BEST TACOS ON THE NORTH SHORE.

We stumbled into Ditch solely by chance and we are so happy we did. It’s a breath of fresh air for a rather stale Main Street in PJ.

Very beachy vibes, feels more south shore LI than snobby north shore which is probably why I love it so much.

The menu has a little bit of everything and everything we saw coming out of the kitchen looked amazing.

We ordered tacos, five different tacos so we could try a bit of everything. From the perfect corn tortilla to the pineapple toppings, everything was fresh and delicious.

The owner Tracy came over to welcome us to his new spot and express his gratitude for giving the new spot a chance.

Our server Brennan was working a busy lunch shift mostly solo and he still delivered a top notch experience.

Very happy with our new discovery and we can’t wait to go back!

This was a fantastic find. Great atmosphere with a really chill vibe. The decor is really well done with theme finds hidden throughout, like a vintage camera, or old school hard cover surfing book. The music was at the perfect volume for enjoying the experience or having a conversation, a balance that most places can’t seem to get right. Mike, our bartender, was super welcoming and provided great insight on menu choices and drink options. Drinks were a zero proof Watermelon Cooler and a Corona Zero with lime. We found out that they fresh squeezed their juices and the flavor of the Watermellon Cooler made that clear, incredible. App was the Guac and Chips, really fresh flavor with a hint of jalapeño, amazing. Taco Trio of carne asada, beachside chicken and pork carnitas, omg, to die for. Poke Bowl that was beyond good, the tuna was perfect, and the sauce with the fresh veggies and sushi rice, brilliant. This was a solid poke bowl with great portions, same with the tacos. Dessert was churros with vanilla dipping sauce that, even full, we half demolished. Going back for sure, this was refreshing.

Awesome time! We haven’t been down port in awhile so when I knew we’d be in the area for an appointment I looked up some new restaurants and thought we’d give his one a try.

We brought our two kids, nearly 8 years old and an 8 month old. Our server, Antoinette, was amazing. She made friends with our older daughter immediately and even convinced her to try a new food (even though she didn’t like it I’m just impressed our picky eater tried it).

My daughter got a burger and loved it. I had some tacos and Mac and cheese at Antoinettea recommendation. Definitely worth it! My husband had the Korean chicken sandwich and also loved it.

The only complaint I have is that there are no high chairs, so we had to hold the baby on our laps so he could eat with us (he enjoyed the food as much as we did!). This caused my husband and I to take turns eating, and I let him go first so my food was a little cold when I got to it (though I took some scoops of Mac and cheese when I could while I held the baby!)

Will definitely be back, just hoping maybe they have a high chair next time 🙂

Finally a new great restaurant in Port Jefferson. I’m not a margarita drinker but their jalapeño margarita was amazing. Food 10/10, recommend the beach fire tacos and Baja fish tacos. Staff and service were awesome. Glad they are in Port Jeff.

You need to check this place out! The vibes are great (live music where you can still hear the person next to you, sign me up), the food is fresh and even more delicious (get the yuca poppers) and the margaritas are the best around (not made with that nasty sour mix)… Sam was excellent as our server, she was attentive even during their busy Friday night hours. I saw the owner Tracy was walking around and asking each table if they were enjoying their meals and making sure everyone was happy. Do yourself a favor and go visit this place!

Really happy to have stumbled upon this spot in Port Jefferson! Our kids loved the atmosphere (cool bicycles and surfboards hanging from the ceiling). Margarita was a 10/10, guac was great and the homemade chips were also 10/10. Recommended tacos are Jerk Shrimp, pork belly and Beachside chicken. Tacos are reasonably priced at around $5 per.

The real star was Antoinette, incredible bartender/server who was seemingly running the entire floor effortlessly. She was beyond accommodating. The perfect mixture of attentiveness and hospitality without ever hovering or being “too much” she was incredible. Since we were new she spent time walking us through her favorite menu items. She was also great with our two young children who have already asked to go back to Ditch repeatedly.

Fantastic addition to PJ, can’t wait to carve out time to visit again.

Great new spot on Port Jefferson’s Main Street. Their specials are very well priced and the portion sizes were generous. The food itself is generally good.

We had a couple minor hiccups but our server resolved the issue.

I wouldn’t sit near the door as it becomes noticably chillier whenever it opens.

We already recommended this place to our friends and we are very likely to come back.
