Every dish we had was really superb. But let’s start off with our first dish, which was drinks from the bar. The bartender was spectacular. I had an old-fashioned and my wife had a margarita. Fresh squeezed lemons makes all the difference.

I will also say although not a dish having a live piano player was just a nice touch that put it over the top.

Marco is always such a great host. I sat at the bar and had a bottle of Sea Smoke Pinot Noir and Zucchini flowers with ricotta and mozzarella. So delicious! I will be back soon! Cheers

I love this restaurant. I discovered it during Covid when we could eat outdoors. They took over the parking lot and it was great fun. I live in Palm Beach and my friend lives in Ft Lauderdale so we meet in the middl eat Novello. I was just there Saturday night, I’m going back on Monday and back again on Saturday. It’s my go to in Boca. The food is great, the service is really good and the owner, Marco, is the best. He even let’s me bring my dog, a Yorkie, to the restaurant if the dog sits in her bag. It’s just a really great restaurant!

This place was nothing short of extraordinary; it exuded an atmosphere that felt both welcoming and intimate, making it the perfect spot for a memorable evening. The service was truly exceptional, with attentive staff who went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our experience was nothing less than perfect. To top it all off, there was a talented pianist playing softly in the corner, filling the air with beautiful melodies that added a magical touch to the ambiance. The com inbination of the warm environment, outstanding service, and enchanting live piano music was truly the icing on the cake, creating a delightful experience that I will cherish for a long time.

The food and service at this restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. I visited recently with my family. We shared some appetizers which -an aragula salad, eggplant rollatini and a caesar salad- all of which lacked presentation and indeed flavor. For our main courses we ordered the Dover Sole and Branzino and Snapper. The sole was way overcooked and absolutely awful. The branzino was a mess in foil and vegetables accompanying some of the dishes were overcooked and soggy. The waiters hovered over the table and the servers did not seem to know how to make themselves scarce. For the price, I found this restaurant below average. Once the bill was placed on our table, the waiter returned twice to pick up the booklet even though we were still chatting. A very lousy experience. I do NOT RECOMMEND this place at all and fully agree with the other reviewers who found it equally poor.

Wonderful dinner as always.
If you aren’t interested in having a great dinner, great service and paying for it.. go somewhere else. This is great Italian food, hands down. If you want fast food Italian, go to Olive Garden – quit ruining the night for the rest of us who enjoy the food and atmosphere.

First, the good:
Quick service.
Spent no more than 1 hr 20 min there.

Now the bad:
We placed an order for:
1) Cesar Salad
2) Ribeye (special menu)
3) Pork Chop
4) Veal Parmesano (special menu)

Cesar – small portion for $36
Ribeye – turned into NY Strip. Medium ordered = Blue arrived. Had to send it back. They brought back well done steak.
Pork Chop – didn’t arrive as described. Missing potatoes.

Left $28 on $192 bill. The server ran after us and started shouting at us that its low amount of tip and asked what was wrong. I explained that a good time to ask was when we were still there… not eating.
We got into the car and the manager started banging on the window. I asked him if we should speak outside. He blocked the door realizing his minuscule stature. I politely explained all of the above.
He asked me where I was from. Shockingly awful service post tip… Wish I left $0.

Pregnant wife, 3 year old in the car.
Who does that? Not good people.

Veal – was good

Booked an early table on Friday 15th March. Was greeted by the owner and directed to our table but decided to eat at the bar instead. Fantastic food, drink and service all round. We were so full after the meal that we needed a quick stop back at our hotel after the meal to recover. Some of the best food we’ve eaten in Florida and we’ll be back for sure!

Marco, thanks for everything.

Dined with a party of 3 other last night. There are countless areas where this restaurant fails.
1. Service- Starting off, we asked to taste a few wines before selecting one. The two samples in the wine glass were so incredibly small/minimal that we could hardly taste the wine to make a satisfying choice. It was as if the bartender was being deliberately cheap and mean. I have never experienced this before. Service felt so rushed- one waiter handled wine, one bus guy poured water and one offered the food menu. At one point the wine waiter was hovering over our table requiring us to respond to the wine sample while the food waiter was reading out the specials. We had to tell him to return later as she was demanding our attention. There was such a complete lack of coordination and professionalism. At 9:40pm on a Friday night there were two tables still sitting, one of which was ours. To show appreciation for our business at that time point, the restaurant team lowered all the lighting in the room as if to say…. OK folks, time to go! It was appalling. The bus guy, the food waiter and a few other staff members stood leaning on the bar, looking directly down at us to communicate that they were waiting on us to finish up and leave. Also, the food waiter and bus guy circled our table immediately after the bill was handed, again communicating that it was time to pack up and go.
2. Food: presentation and food quality was very mediocre. The Caesar salad was as average in presentation and taste as you would ever get. Trust me… the Olive Garden Caesar beats this hands-down any day and it doesn’t set you back $28! I ordered Chicken Parmigiana for my main- it came as a huge blurb of cheese, with the pasta swimming in sauce. Absolutely, no finesse or creative skills associated with the cooking or presentation of this meal. AIn addition, the thin chicken cutlet was overcooked and tough. Not tender at all. My friends described their food as ‘nothing special’.
3. Atmosphere/Ambience: I have eaten at Novello previously but this time our 8:30pm start was later than usual. The restaurant cleared out pretty quickly, but the atmosphere was ruined by the pressure we felt to finish up and leave as the last customers standing.
4. Price: Expensive and as it turns out ‘very expensive’ for the quality of the product and service they offer.

Verdict: AVOID. Simply not worth the bucks!

Bravo to the team at Novella’s. From the food to the service and atmosphere; everything was excellent. The Bronzino was perfect, the clams and linguine was spot on. We were welcomed warmly, and the waiter, Salem, was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. The dessert, Affogato, was delicious and complementary Lemoncello a nice touch. This restaurant is a hidden gem that should be experienced by many. I’m surprised there wasn’t a line outside. We will definitely be back. Well done and greatly appreciated.
