Really unique, creative, and artistically gritty vibe here! Their stickers say “Chinese. Pizza. Disco.” and that was exactly correct. The food was incredibly delicious, the cocktails were expertly crafted, and the music was energetic without being too distracting. By and large, it was a wonderful dining experience and any perceived negatives are simply related to my own preferences.
The seating layout was a bit tight and cozy for my personal comfort, but it’s not something that would keep me from visiting again. The low light is offset by small candles, but was just too dark for my eyes. Lastly, it was a bit noisy (only natural on a Saturday night) and the tunnel-like restaurant layout amplifies the sound.
The menu is robust without feeling overwhelming. I really enjoyed the lamb wontons. They were flavorful, warm, and a textural delight. My entrée was the three cup chicken, a generously portioned plate with pickled veggies and rice.

Been many years since we’ve been and not going to wait that long to return as the service fast and friendly, cocktails spot on, and food was amazing. Ordered the lamb wontons and pork dumplings. The lamb dumplings were orgasmic! Props to the DJ too!

Louis and Devin and the DJ Funkenstein were the most hospitable and generous people! We were there past closing waiting for our Uber and they were so kind and allowed us to stay with no fuss. Truly one of the best spots in Madison!!!! Can’t describe in words how good our experience was.

Nattspil was amazing! I was completely thrown off guard by how good the food was and I was not expecting that! WOW! I started the night off with the Crab and Crawfish Rangoo and the we’re just right. The tamarind sauce gives these rangoos a different spin but not enough to where you are eating something completely different than what you would expect. The Three Cup Chicken was phenomenal. Actually, I wish I had some for dinner tonight. The chicken was cooked just right! It was not rubbery or over cooked just right tender and juicy. One thing I will note is the dinning area. It was definitely a bit tight and there wasn’t much room to sit or walk around. With food that good, you don’t have to worry about spacious sitting and being able to maneuver freely. The food was definitely worth going to Nattspil and I will be back!

This place is like a secret hideout that feels part speakeasy and part hobbit hole. The food is fantastic and the service is great. The drawback is its small size, which is also what makes it feel so cozy. It fills up quickly. Also, there is no signage, so you just have to know its there.

This is an amazing speakeasy. We were pleasantly surprised when we entered the restaurant. This place was recommended to us from the bartender Terry at The Rigby. The food here was amazing. This place is managed perfectly. It is a well oiled machine. The chef’s and bartender are very experienced. Drinks made perfectly by Glynis our bartender. The food was impeccable and full of flavor. James, Cash and Frank make everything fresh to order. The food is absolutely amazing. The atmosphere is laid back, intimate, and the music is spot on. The vibe in this restaurant elevates your experience. I strongly suggest sitting at the bar and watching the staff work flawlessly. We will be back and I highly recommend coming here if you are in the downtown Madison area.

Small place that delivers big. Perfect drinks and great food all prepared in an open bar/kitchen/wall oven where every guest can see it all happen. The kind of place where you never have to ask for service but are yet never interrupted by a cool team that somehow always have exactly what you need when you need it.
