First, this place is great. Very local, hometown family owned place. Love that. Food is good and we go often. The lemon poppy French toast is awesome!! An the home fries! yum.

Only bad I have to say is for the owner and not meant to diss the restaurant. (So please dont let this stop you from going, it really a cool place).

So…This last time we went (10/4/25) the server was so unfriendly and un attentive that I really want you to know. While we love Jack’s and will always come, know that this server should be let go and in no way represents your restaurants great experience level we’ve known. Her name is Leanne. She needs to be trained in how to be an attentive, kind and friendly person. I watched her and she was the same with all her tables. Not good for your business. Hope this helps you.
I attached out receipt for reference.

Neat place with indoor and outdoor seatings. It was fairly hot outside so we prefer to avoid
Had an excellent pulled pork sandwich (would be great to have pickles together with it ) , coffee is the usual diner experience.
Loved the booth we got, next to the window.
Classic friendly service.
It seems they are more of a breakfast place though, since they close around 1pm.

The best breakfast I’ve ever had. I wish we lived around here. Definitely try their popover!

Stopped in for Saturday brunch around 10:30 and was seated right away. Drink orders taken and brought quickly.

Started with a pop over, which was good.
Breakfast was delivered relatively quickly and hot. Pancake batter wasn’t great but blueberries were fresh.

Eggs were prepared well, toast was well buttered and sides good. Chicken sausage was a good alternative meat option, very tasty.

Would recommend

Terrific breakfast. Went during a snowstorm New Years Day and had a great time. Food came out quick and it was one of the best scrambles I’ve ever had. This will definitely become my go to breakfast place!

Jack’s Outback in Yarmouthport is something of a breakfast/brunch/lunch institution in the mid Cape area. The menu is broad and varied and the food is delicious enough to keep people coming back for years and years. My wife and I have been eating breakfast at Jack’s twice a week going on 20 years now. Highly recommended.

I’ve never understood the fascination with Jack’s and always thought it was just serviceable food. But it had a decent vibe and friendly service. Under new ownership it’s gone further downhill in my book. Bland looking plate of hash and eggs. Hash had a strange aftertaste. Asked for crispy home fries because I know if you don’t they’re barely warm, but they were still far from crispy. Servers were friendly and attentive at the counter but everyone else working there looked miserable. Pretty hot in there as well with no cross ventilation or fan. Can’t imagine what it will be like in July.

Never again. Sticking with Red Cottage or The West End.

Stopped for breakfast our last day of vacation. So glad we did! Great service, and we both loved our food. Took some popovers to go and they were wonderful. Would absolutely come back if we visit the area again

We visited on the strong recommendation of a nearby local business we regularly shop on the way home from weekends in Provincetown. Lots of parking on a side road leading off the main road which also serves as the parking lot. Charming exterior like an old house. I read the original owners retired and sold the business just a few weeks ago to a family who appears to have several family members working in the restaurant along with the previous staff.
Upon entering, It might seem a little confusing as you walk into a foyer which also has counter/bar seating adjacent an open kitchen. There isn’t a discernible host station so we just waited near the “wait to be seated” sign. An employee came up to us within a few minutes to seat us. As we were waiting, we noticed a pan of beautiful popovers on a counter and we knew right away we needed to try one. It was around noon which is just an hour before closing and were lucky to be seated at a very comfortable, roomy corner window booth. The main dining room is a large open space, very clean and naturally lighted from many windows. A young man came up to our table right away with water and took our drink orders. Coffee was delicious and piping hot and I love that they serve their soft drinks in a can with a glass of ice on the side. We let our server know we were first timers and enthusiastic about the many special items on the menu. We were immediately drawn to the special popover we had observed earlier, served with melted brie, raspberry jam, fresh raspberries and bacon. We decided to share one as a breakfast appetizer, before our entrees. It arrived with melty brie cheese, raspberry jam and bacon still bubbling from the griddle. No fresh raspberries, however which we didn’t notice until we were half done with it.
For our entrees, we settled on 2 of the extensive Eggs Benedict items on the menu. I had the Irish Benedict, house made Corned Beef Hash on a traditional english muffin. My husband chose a Florentine Benedict with spinach, served on potato pancakes instead of an English muffin. While waiting for our entrees, we observed some of the great young staff circling the dining room helping out the servers by refilling coffee, run food, bus tables and generally keep things clean and stocked. Our waitress was a little short with us, however, like she didn’t want to be there, or maybe it was a long shift. We got what amounted to an eye roll from her at one point over a question we had about a menu item.
When our entrees arrived we were a little disappointed with the messy presentation, and even more disappointed that they were both lukewarm.
I could have said something, but by this time the restaurant was closing in a half hour and it’s always such a big deal to complain in person. I also hate wasting food and probably waiting longer for the kitchen to redo an order that should have been right the first time, especially when you’re starving. Maybe asking that the popover to be served first allowed our entrees to be left sitting longer than they should have.
The home fries served are seasoned red potatoes chunks, cooked ahead, but not really what I would call home fries as they weren’t very warm and not browned on the griddle for very long to reheat them, if at all.
My hash was tasty, but chopped up so finely that it was crumbly
and mealy in texture, and again, not at all grilled, caramelized or cohesive . The english muffin was barely toasted and difficult to cut through. The poached eggs were cooked ok, but placed all on one muffin half with very little Hollandaise. The potato pancake on the florentine was better, but nothing on either dish was hot. We went to pay the check with a credit card, not realizing that the restaurant accepts cash only. Kind of thought our waitress might have mentioned this when we told her it was our first time visiting. Also no ATM on site, so I had to walk down the street to a bank to get money. We’ll remember if we visit again.

Usually a great spot but whoever was cooking today sent out a half cooked Monte Cristo. Only one side of the french toast was cooked, the inside was a wet raw egg with cinnamon dipped side of bread. They also forgot the turkey and I was at a loss with the server and his explanation, I assumed they would take it off the bill as I was only able to eat a few bites. He explaind I ate more than half because I pulled the hand out and put it into the cooked popover. I’ll go back because it is usually a great spot but buyer beware
