Been here before a few times and it’s a good bar typically, however we came here for New Years and it was an absolute Trainwreck.
They clearly went over capacity to the point that you couldn’t move at all not to mention I question if 90% of the children they allowed in for New Years were even 21 (for reference me and my girlfriend are 28). Bartenders were so busy that you had to wait 15 minutes to even have someone look at you as well which again I get it being New Years Eve, but they went way past capacity limits.
Again it’s typically fine, but absolutely awful experience on New Years here. You’d hands down have been better off going to any club downtown and would’ve had a better time than this.

This is a great hang right above the theater, in a beautiful, historic building. It’s a well known and well loved establishment in downtown Arlington Heights. Sure, there are rules (be leery of patron reviews who can’t stand to be chided for breaking legal rules!), but everyone needs to feel SAFE while having fun. I’ve seen too many great bars in downtown buildings get completely trashed by entitled people. I, my family and friends have been here many times and have never had a bad experience! Support and respect your local bars!

First off, the bartending staff was great. However this general manager was an absolute nightmare. My sister threw her husband a SURPRISE 40th bday party last night. It was 40+ people for this event. As they were walking in, as in the moment of surprise, the general manager held them back for several minutes in front of all the guests to complain to my sister about her guests bringing booze.
What? They were gifts in gift bags, and this woman made the comment that she didn’t know if we’d be drinking it. Ma’am no, they are gifts, and you knew my sister had put her credit card down to cover the ENTIRE party tab. There were a number of petty and smart comments this woman made to guests during the night, as in telling another couple upon entry that the woman was in an abusive relationship(?) or being rude to our mother when she arrived to set up.
This wasn’t a rowdy party, it was a 40th bday party for family and friends beginning at 6:30. I wouldn’t recommend hosting anything here if this woman continues to be the general manager. She and the owner made some wildly unhinged comments to project/cover for the severe lack of service.

Do not book a large party here. There is zero hospitality. I genuinely do not know how this general manager still has a job. No friendliness or warmth or greetings to our group. Could not have cared less that we were spending $3,000. Absolutely horrible experience.

This was literally the worst bar experience I had in my life. The person checking IDs was the general manager and she would not let us bring presents to a 40 th bday party bc it was alcohol. She said we would drink the alcohol present we said we are 40 and not poor it is literally a gift. She was such an absolute jerk. Then I had a separate terrible experience with a bartender that would not give me my credit card back and insisted I was already given it back and I was drunk. I told him 5x I was not drunk and I did not get my card back. He kept ignoring me but I would not give up. He finally found my card 20 minutes later and still blamed me. I have never had such a horrendous experience and my friend paid for a party of 40 peoples tab tonight. I hate this place and will never return.

Absolutely horrific experience. Don’t accept real ID from out of state for people over 21 and demanded a passport instead. When we turned to leave, the bouncer leapt out of his seat to grab me in the back and force us to go back through the crowd of people at the door instead of around them to avoid the people. He was yelling that he told us to get out while physically touching us, a group of mostly girls where he only touched the women as we were already headed towards the exit. Horrible experience all around and could have been avoided with anyone with an ounce of respect for others working there. Never going back.

Was charged a $10 “Left Behind Credit Card Fee” on a $6 beer! The fee was more than the item I purchased! The credit card was “found” after I was argued down that I couldn’t have left it the day that I did, with them giving me receipt proof with the exact day I stated. More charges were trying to be posted on the credit card, too, before I froze it & went up there. Older white guy with ponytail was the one dealing with the situation & was rude, cutting me off, & telling me that my take on what happened could NOT have happened! Would never patronize nor recommend to patronize again!!

I had always heard bad things about Arlington Ale House and they’re all true. For one, the staff is rude and disorganized. The service is slow and the cocktails are watered down. They also let in underage kids that look like they’re in high school on busy nights because they don’t notice or don’t care.
The actual adult patrons are often belligerent due to being over-served. This is a MAJOR safety issue. It’s normal to find blood in the elevators, bathrooms etc due to drunken people falling down and/or fighting. Overall, it’s pretty lame. It seems like they only care about making money and watching the bears lose.

I never leave reviews, but I’m upset. I along with a few of my friends came here for a few drinks and dancing. Drinks were a little expensive, they had a cool light up dance floor, and the place was pretty well filled up. I was having a good time until there was a spilled drink on the dance floor and it wasn’t cleaned promptly. The dance floor is an area that would be as slick as tile if it was wet, and it was. I didn’t notice it until I was on the ground; I slipped and broke my wrist. I ended up needing surgery because of how bad it was. The entire club saw me fall and not one employee came to help me up or check if I was okay. As per law, the bar is responsible for keeping a clean and safe place to enjoy their establishment. I would’ve been happy to give 5 stars before my fall(due the the negligence of the staff not cleaning), but the lack of acknowledgement and empathy took a good experience and turned it horrible.
