My experience here was absolutely atrocious
Food was so, so, bad. I ordered takeout, and none of the food was correctly labeled and we have some vegetarians in our family. Also, they packed as many pupusas in a container making the container melt. They forgot half of our food also.
Just horrible and I do not recommend this place. I wouldn’t be surprised if we got sick from this food.

Food tasted authentic. Pricing was good.
I ASKED SPECIFICALLY WHAT KIND OF MEAT DID THE PUPUSAS ENCHILADAS come with. I was told pork (chicharron). I ordered the 3 piece plate.
NOTHING BUT POTATOES AS FILLER. NO MEAT.
And I paid $16. 2 Tamales ($3) each. So a plate of El Salvadoran potato enchiladas (MX tostadas) for $10?

Thought it was a restaurant but even though it was a food truck it had delicious food . Got almost one of everything because how good the food was.

Doesn’t live up to Portillo name.
The decor is more fast food and so are the staff attitudes, when I asked a how I could tell which ones were sweet or not I was “open it up and look” so now I need to handle all of my families food to figure out what’s what. They wouldn’t even walk over to talk to me so it was basically, “go away”.
Then the amount of peppers was not the normal amount I felt and the cashier wanted to debate about the preset amount of peppers, I don’t want to debate about my food I was just saying normally it’s more generous and I felt it wasn’t. I love Portillos but I’d try another location.
