A must stop! Opened in 1933 in Wilmette, IL. Time definitely stands still in this old place. It must’ve been an old house. The bar is covered with amazing old beer lights, mirrors, and signs. Definitely old school American bar food. Cash only. Atm on-site. Great staff as well.

Meier is one of my favorite bars of all time. This place is so absolutely unique, not just with its old school decor, but with the amazing bar staff who have been with the establishment for years. Once you’ve been through the doors a couple dozen times, the staffers greet you, know your favorite drink and ask you how your day went. The menu is simple but the food is consistently good. And the Friday fish fry is second to none! If you favor Wisconsin supper clubs like I do, where people seem to know each other, the prices are very reasonable and the interior looks like something out of a time warp, I’d say Meier is your spot. Great place to watch games of any type as well, and be sure to check out the carolers and your favorite elf during Christmas-time!

Wonderful local establishment. If you want a good hamburger, you’re at the right spot. Laid back atmosphere with “old school” charm. Go hang out for a bit with your friends.

I know it’s a local staple, but styrofoam plates, carpet in the dinning room and cash only are all no-go for me. The Dab beer was good but I make a better ham and cheese sandwich at home. Service was good, but I’ll take my business elsewhere.

I hadn’t been here in 40 years! Staff and service was great. Menu limited to bar food, but was good stuff. Will be back when in the neighborhood.

Excellent dive bar! Something about pairing big mugs of beer with fried food is just heavenly! I recommend getting the onion rings! Those are ALWAYS satisfying: fried perfectly! Our waitress was Marge and she was awesome! All of the bartenders are awesome and the beer is cold! What more can anyone ask for?
