Runza Restaurants Serving real food requires a real commitment. It all begins bright and early each morning. Instead of serving breakfast, we’re making homemade bread dough from scratch. We’re hand-slicing onions. We’re shredding lettuce for our salads. We’re stirring up homemade chili and fresh ground beef filling for Runza® Sandwiches. It’s a labor-intensive process that doesn’t let up until long after closing time. We know there are easier ways to do all this, but our commitment to doing things the right way is as real as our food, and that’s not something we’re going to change.

So my husband, son, grandson and I stopped in on a super busy afternoon, and thinking it would take a while to get our food, we were pleasantly surprised by how quick and efficient they were. And our order was right! The food tasted great, and the service was excellent. Good job Clarinda Runza!

I happened to be in Clarinda and had never heard of Runza so I decided to stop by and try it out.
I had the original sandwich meal and thought it was just ok. The best way I would describe it to someone who has never had their original sandwich is that it is similar to a hot pocket with hamburger meat and cabbage. It tastes exactly how you would expect it to. The fries were crispy and nicely salted without having your fingers coated in salt.
My experience at the restaurant was pretty good with the exception of the customer service representative at the counter. She could have been more personable and helpful. I told her it was my first time trying this restaurant and asked her if the sandwich was good and she replied she “didn’t know because she doesn’t eat here”. The restaurant was fairly clean and had convenient parking. I would also say that it is handicapped accessible.

Pretty fast and quick service. The double cheese burger was very well put together and had enough ketchup and pickles for the burger. The fries were pretty good but had probably 1/4 of the. that were burnt. You may want to check your receipts because one states you are in Iowa and the other states you are in Nebraska.

Our first visit to a Runza restaurant. I had the burger and fries. The burger was fresh ground and not a frozen patty. It was tender and juicy and not greasy. Fantastic tasting. Wife had a chicken salad and said it was excellent.

I noticed it was very clean as soon as I entered. The employees were friendly and easily answered my questions.
I had the mushroom swiss burger as recommended by other reviewers, but no bun. With that, I had the onion rings and fry mixture they call “frings”.
Everything was delicious! The onion rings were fantastic! The burgers were juicy and thick.
I picked up a mushroom swiss runza and a cheese runza for later. I was pleasantly surprised that they tasted great even re-heated.

Stop here if you are ready to experience a Midwest culinary treat of ground-beef, cabbage, onions, and seasonings in a yeast dough bread pocket sandwich at the only probable franchise location in Iowa.
When we visited for lunch at noon today, the employees were polite and efficient, and our food order was delivered piping hot.
Negatives were noted in one of the restrooms where two ceiling tiles had water stains or were broken, the toilet was not bolted securely to the floor, and many portions of the room lacked basic sanitization.

Wife and I enjoy this store when we are in Clarinda. The food is always fresh the place is pleasant and clean. The young lady that took our order is very nice and helpful. Best Runza I’ve been to.

Okay. So this was kind of disappointing considering this was my first time ever coming to this runza. Can I come through the drive through.
I don’t live in Clorinda. I was here for work and I ordered a cookie. The guy repeated back and a cookie, and I said, yes.
L o l and then I paid for the cookie.And I did not receive a cookie.
Now if the GM or manager is reading this, I’m not really mad or anything but I did pay for something that I didn’t receive. And that’s bad business, and as somebody that is a consumer of your product to pay for it did not receive, it is really kind of sad, especially when the kid repeated back to me. What I had told him
