Do NOT order ribs — tough, under cooked, and greasy. Definitely not worth the $13.95. Service was great and good potato salad. Would I go back? No!
They are both unscrupulous scrooges, and two-faced gossipmongers.
They use only the absolute cheapest things possible, and overcharge for every item on the menu. They are so uptight with prices they will throw a fit over a 12 cent price change on their material costs.
The building is a shed, literally a shed. Their bathrooms are located in a hall so narrow you cant fit 2 people in it, and most likely anyone who is overweight wont fit in the hall alone at all.
Their recent change has made the food taste worse than ever.
The nature of the owners, and recent changes in food have left this place a totally different experience. It is sad as this use to be a go-to place for food, I suggest some where else from now on.
Mrs Louis and her staff are congeal and talkative, good ole Southern hospitality. That’s the only redeeming quality for the 1 star rating.
The restrooms are through the front kitchen area, a thin hallway (less than 36″ wide), leads to the woman’s and men’s which are just larger than a mop closet, maybe a few inches wider than aircraft restrooms.
On the kitchen floor sat a bread tray full of hamburger buns, the third sanitation violation witnessed and not even trying to inspect the place. My 20+ years in the restaurant industry make it easy for me to catch the easy stuff.
Food and drinks are served in styrofoam containers, the knife and fork are metal.
The 1000 isle dressing which is homemade we are told tasted like mayonnaise with sugar a touch of ketchup and a hint of relish, served with the salad of iceberg lettuce and a slice of tomato.
The BBQ Beef is brisket, which had a hint of smoke but looked old and pre sliced days ago, it was grey and tough.
The coleslaw was okay, nothing fancy.
The BBQ Ribs we are told are pork, the largest pork ribs I’ve ever seen. They were a mix of tender and tough, my wife said they were like jerky.
The baked beans are out of a can and heated, not much else to them, bland and dull.
Just after the food came several flies started about our table. Louise came to the table saw the flies and a minute later returned with a fly swatter. She swatted at one on the table with a “wack”, I just about jumped from my seat. My wife and looked at each other and laughed. Louise said “Did I get it?” Nope, and thank goodness she missed, nothing like fly guts in your dinner.
Can’t fault our sever, I asked for a ToGo box and paid, gave her 20% tip, but $13.95 a plate is way over priced for the quality.
We laughed all the way home “wack”, did she swat that fly on the table?
Louise’s needs help, not sure how they stay in business for 34 years.
