I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant Lion d’Or in Cologny village, right next door to Geneva city on left bank of Rhone river. Food and service are first class here. During good season, aim for early reservation for terrace table with front row view and be fast. Price is quite steep but is made up for by all the above-mentioned qualities.

Amazing food with an amazing view ! The menu frequently changes depending on the season, which says a lot about the freshness of the products. I would absolutely recommend for a summer lunch or dinner, with your other half or with colleagues. The outside terrace is perfect for any occasion. Service is also of very high quality. One of my favorite restaurants in Geneva.

We had a great dinner. The salmon tartare was delicious. The main, a morel poultry was fabulous, creamy sauce and perfectly cooked. I had a baba to finish that was perfect too. The waiters were very generous on the Rhum !
On the negatives, for the price the quantities are too small, and you will end up eating 3 plates and some bread. Service was surprisingly quick, too quick even. To me this tends to show that a lot is pre-prepared but then can affect some parts of the food like the bread with my tartare, a quality that wasn’t acceptable a place of that standing (chewy toast like if it had been microwaved).
The view and the terrace are superb and the service is very kind. I find the wine list however very disappointing for a restaurant of this Level.

Beautiful view of Lake Geneva the Great ambience and food presentation and taste was so amazing that the executive chef is Irish and one of the country’s he worked in is Kuwait in the intercontinental hotel an amazing personality made the place more special to me and my wife the story’s where amazing to hear and his amazing food was 10 stars our hats are off for chef Tommy a night to remember.
