I have seen the place a few times, now finally got a chance to try it for wine and some small bites.

The owners and servers are all French. They will know their stuff well.

The menu is quite authentically French.

We had the garlic fries . That was ok but nothing too special, though I did like that there are full cloves of fryer garlic in it.

The lobster pie was decent. Though I wish the lobster flavor came out more.

The basque cheesecake was a delight! It was sweet – just right. Not overly sweet. That is the best compliment an Asian person can give.

The wine selection was quite good as well.

Such a cute and cozy place. The portions/price/quality ratio is pretty spot on. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was really great.
Brought my boyfriend here for his birthday and the chef came out to greet us. We got a couple of the more expensive entrees, two starters, and wine and the total was around ~$300 including tip.

We loved everything, but here was our order:
Beet and avocado salad
Bone Marrow
Duck Confit
Crispy Sea Bass special

They also suggested two wines which were absolutely delicious and spot on to match our meal.

The atmosphere is so cozy, reminds me of little spots I would find tucked into corners of NYC. Definitely a mom and pop establishment and they clearly take their customer service seriously. I loved our entire experience.

It’s not hard to tell when a family takes pride in what they do. This quaint family french restaurant provides a great atmosphere, excellent service and amazing food! Super friendly and happy to share their story. We were also greeted by the chef who came out to shake hands and meet us. Nice touch. Will gladly make the hour and a half drive to visit again soon. Thank you for a wonderful experience!!!

A cozy little bistro with tasty classic dishes. We tried the endive salad, roast duck and bouf bourgignon. All were delicious. The staff and owner were very friendly and took care of us like family.

The best french cuisine I’ve ever had. The dining experience was great! The sauce of every dish worked so well. I suggest the escargot, duck confit, beef bourguignon and creme brulee(literally everything I had). The truffle oil fries were mind blowing, try it for an awesome surprise and twist! This is a place I would definitely come back!

Made a reservation and dined here with friends and family, and my go-to spot did not disappoint! Though unassuming from the outside, the ambiance inside is perfect, and the food is as authentic as it gets. My friends raved about the wine selection too—a truly memorable dining experience!

Appetizers:

Mushroom Tourte: A rich, flavorful mushroom starter.
Roasted Bone Marrow: Classic and deeply seasoned, this is a must-try for marrow lovers.
Escargot: Snails paired with a robust, creamy sauce—absolutely sets the mood for a hearty French meal!
Country Plate: A unique mix of vegetables with two dips; one of the sauces was a bit too tangy for my taste, but it still added an interesting twist.

Main Courses:

Branzino: Flown in from Europe, this seabass has a beautiful roasted flavor. The lemon and sauce blend perfectly, and while the fish has a few bones, its crisp skin and tender meat are worth it!
Scottish Salmon & Crispy Calamari: The salmon’s crispy exterior and tender inside, combined with the flavorful accompaniments, make it outstanding.
Mary’s Farm Duck Leg Confit: This duck is a crowd-pleaser every time—perfectly cooked with deep, savory flavors. A staple for our table!
Brussels Sprouts: One friend ordered it for some extra greens, and it was decent, but ordering sprouts at a place like this feels like missing out on the star dishes.

Desserts:

Tahitian Vanilla Creme Brulee: Their classic dessert! The strawberry, caramelized sugar layer, and custard combo never disappoints.
Seasonal Carrot Cheesecake: A delightful seasonal offering that’s a fun twist for those who want to sample something new.

Wines:
My friends chose two wines, a Tempranillo and Omen Cab—both were reportedly fantastic!

We were lucky to meet the chef and owner, who shared his vision of bringing authentic French family cuisine to the U.S. It’s a joy to see someone so passionate, though getting a photo was tricky since he’s so hands-on in the kitchen.

Located in a quieter part of LA, A Food Affair has that true “hidden gem” charm. Parking is easy with a small lot in the back, usually with enough space.

This is hands-down the best French spot in LA for me. The prices are very reasonable, and I can’t recommend it enough!
