Stopped by Trafford’s restaurant for a return visit, most recently for dinner. Went with the quahogs and I though they were excellent. Had the chowder and it was okay, not the greatest. A little watery, taste was off. I got the fish tacos and thought they were okay as well, not bad. Wife went with the honey chicken sandwich and it wasn’t that great. Her expresso martini was okay as well. My last visit was for lunch. I Tried getting a bar seat, but the outdoor bar was full and they were having an event, so limited bar seating. Went with the Crab cakes for an appetizer and thought they were great. Had the cold mayo lobster roll. It was great as well. Upgraded to truffle fries and they were great as well.

Excellent experience overall! Our waitress was just the sweetest woman and super kind to my 3 kiddos. The restaurant itself is beautiful. We enjoyed sitting on the back enclosed patio area. The food was delicious! I got the swordfish, which could have been taken of the heat a little sooner, but otherwise great, and the mushroom risotto that came with it was fantastic. My husband enjoyed his lobster roll, and the kids enjoyed their roast beef, grilled cheese, and mac n cheese (it was craft, so my 6yr old was thrilled lol). The truffle fries were great and the regular fries also had good seasoning. Do yourself a favor and get the truffle Brussels Sprouts with goat cheese sauce. SO GOOD!

A Waterfront Gem – Highly Recommended!
If you’re looking for a beautiful waterfront dining experience, Trafford’s is the place to go. Even though we visited on a gloomy day, the view overlooking the Barrington River was still stunning. I can only imagine how breathtaking it must be on a sunny evening with the sun setting in the background.
The staff were incredibly friendly, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the start. The cocktail menu is impressive, featuring creative signature drinks that are hard to pass up. Of course, you can stick to your usual favorites—but with such a fun and flavorful menu, why not try something new?
Now, let’s talk about the food—absolutely outstanding! Everything was fresh and full of flavor. The Chilean Sea Bass was a standout: pan-seared and served with a citrus glaze, frisée & watermelon radish slaw, sticky rice, and green beans sautéed with caramelized onions. Every bite was a treat.
The Trafford Pan Roast was next-level good: seared cod, wild-caught white shrimp, P.E.I. mussels, little necks, and Mexican chorizo, all served with red potatoes in a spicy fire-roasted tomato broth and accompanied by grilled sourdough. Rich, bold, and satisfying.
The rack of lamb was another favorite—perfectly cooked and served with roasted cipollini onions, herbed mashed potatoes, Dijon veal demi, and tender baby carrots. Absolutely mouthwatering.
Our waitress (I wish I remembered her name!) was a lovely red-haired woman who clearly knew the menu inside and out. Her recommendations were spot on—from the entrées to the raspberry crème brûlée, which was the perfect sweet ending.
All in all, I give Trafford’s two enthusiastic thumbs up! I highly recommend it for a special night out, especially if you’re a fan of fresh seafood, expertly crafted dishes, and a beautiful view to match.

This place is awesome. The location is easy to get to. They are right on the water, so you get a nice view. Their food was excellent, very delicious. Their drinks were pretty good, too. Their prices were affordable for the area and type of restaurant; I would consider it a little bit fancy. The service was very good also. I can’t wait to go again and try another dish. Most of them sounded very delicious.

An amazing place that has a very amazing view of the water too! Staff was super friendly and were able to accommodate well for the allergies in my party. The atmosphere was also great, it’s a well kept place! Food was even better, I had a burger which was really good and everyone else in my party liked the food, I highly recommend this place as it will not disappoint!

Trafford has always been a favorite of mine. The food is always excellent. The staff we encountered were friendly and personable. The view on the water is fabulous. 5 stars as always.
Tonight was a busy night and our server Emily was FANTASTIC in every way. I’m not sure if the blonde woman checking in on us was the manager or the owner but she was so lovely as well. The kitchen did a wonderful job and each dish was great. I had the roast beef & it was perfect. My friends had different seafood plates and enjoyed them. The topper was the chocolate peanut butter cake.
The bartender seemed overwhelmed keeping up with a busy restaurant. Other than that, highly recommend this top notch restaurant to everyone.

Dropped in for lunch with friends and everything was perfect. The French onion soup is one of the best in the state. It has taste and a kick to it… most restaurants make it very basic and flavorless. The frontega chicken panini was superb- flavor in every bite.
Emily was our delightful server and made it a most excellent experience.

When it came to the food, we ordered the Sunny Side Burger, which is a solid 3/5. We were pleased with how the meat was cooked. We also ordered the Trafford Burger, which was rated 3/5.
We tried the Buttermilk Chicken Tenders as an appetizer, and they were amazing. The buffalo sauce added an extra kick of flavor to the already tasty chicken tenders — rating 4/5. However, we were a bit disappointed with the quantity of the tenders.
Overall, our experience at Trafford Restaurant was positive. However we did a review on Instagram and the owner got back to us, he was very rude and disrespectful. He couldn’t accept our feedback — it was a personal experience and we rather be honest instead of giving a 5 star.
That being said regardless of the owner’s rudeness we would recommend this restaurant to others.

We rented the upstairs for our wedding dinner and it was the perfect place to bring the family together. The food was excellent, we had a group of 35 and so many told us it was the best wedding dinner they’d ever had. Service was perfect and so friendly, the views are gorgeous, great atmosphere – very highly recommend!

Service was good, friendly and attentive staff. Food was ok. 1 or 2 things were good but others were questionable. That $33 bolognese was a disappointment, flavor was just not desirable and we ended up not eating the left overs but the crispy shrimp appetizer was fantastic. Hit or miss, it seems. We may try again but it will be a while.
