Haven’t been to this spot in a bit since we moved to Lodi, but omg as usual they did not disappoint. The staff is always super friendly and hospitable. It’s so refreshing to be able to order something for our 7yo and the staff knew exactly what we meant when we said we needed it plain. The food itself as always is so amazing. You can literally taste the love that goes into their food. All the ingredients are always distributed so evenly when you get a burrito, not all sour cream on one end and beans on the other. The flavors plus the amazingly fresh produce make it so worth the drive to Acampo just to indulge in some flavorful and delicious food. We will for sure be back and will continue to recommend to our friends 🙂

The Asada Street Tacos were decent. The salsa was okay, could’ve been better with more heat or atleast the option for more heat. The jalepeno was nice and spicy, but the radish seemed a little old.
The surprising bit of it all that made the meal was the marinated fried onions. They definitely made the tacos. The service was great and quick. Definitely would go back.

If you are looking for great carne asada tacos and a good california burritto, this is your spot. I grew up in San Diego eating Tj tacos very often, this taco truck is the closest thing to the real deal. I was impressed the most with the carne asada tacos, very spicy, very good. Ill be going back. Best mexican food in NorCal !!! Ill be going back whenever im in the area!

BEST BREAKFAST BURRITO IVE EVER HAD! I got the breakfast mix with hot salsa on the side and it was mind blowing. I don’t even really like breakfast food but the spicy hot link combined with the bacon and potatoes and egg was a flavor bomb!

When the ladies are working this is an easy 5, when its all dudes in there the food does not taste nearly as good and the portions are smaller, even the horchata wasn’t good just overly sweet.

I love this place sooooo much!!! The food is always delicious, friendly people, perfect location. I’ve stopped here almost every time work sends me down 99 for yeeears. Also, best sopes! Made fresh to order!
Update: Pena’s now has a new truck! The menu has also been expanded some and now includes birria. I tried the quesabirria tacos and not that I had any doubts going in, but they were the best quesabirria tacos I’ve had. Crunchy outside, tender beef and gooey cheese inside and an excellent consome! They checked all the boxes!

Un caloron!!! You can’t park in the shade because is not shades available!! Only in the gas station!! So afuerzas even if you put gas you have to move your mugrero de carro!! So that is the only thing other than that te recomiendo los tacos de cabezaa!!! Te ban a encantar

I go here for the breakfast burritos. The mix breakfast burrito is the best ive had anywhere. I like to get without salsa then add my own. 5 star breakfast burrito!
Just an update to give credit where credit is due. A year later ive tried many places and nobody has breakfast burritos as good as this place. Since I moved farther away it looks like I will have to commute to get the mix breakfast burritos now.

Taco trucks are everywhere. They all look the same. But unlike the fast food chain locations, where you can always expect consistent food quality and taste. Which may or may not be a good thing.
Taco trucks however are always a discovery, a little adventure. And there are times when I have felt like it could also be a bit of a gamble.
And if you can somehow get lucky, and find one good one close to your place of work, then you are all set. Especially in this town, if it even qualifies as a town.
So I work at the local airport, and I get an hour lunch break. My options are very limited – a subway, a little diner at the Arco truck stop, which is tolerable for breakfast every now and then, and this taco place.
Good Mexican food to me is, quality meat, and easy on the lard. This place has both. And it is best bang for the buck. And I have never felt like I am stuck eating here for lack of options. Very friendly staff. Cash only, but the gas station has an ATM inside.
