Came here on a quiet Saturday morning. The sushi and ambience were excellent, and the service was good. The area between tables is very generous and the interior is spacious. The prices were reasonable and the portions were good for Metro Vancouver. I ordered the salmon maki, salmon cream roll and Alaska-Dynamite roll; the Al-Dy roll was really good and I would recommend the hybrid if you like those two rolls. I will come again with my friends and family.

It’s funny how their Wi-Fi is still under the old name. Sure they got new updated stuff and decoration. Food was ok. Service was fine but i was one of two people in the restaurant. The staff seen nice, but it was weird when one of the ladies got really close to me to ask how everything was.
Also horrible taste in music for a sushi place. It was a mix between jazz and elevator music. It gave me a headache.
Not sure if i will come back, as i wasn’t pleased with the previous place.

I’ve been coming to this place for a long time. it’s my favourite sushi restaurant.
It used to be Hyack Sushi, and I also visited when it was Hyack Sushi. After the renovation and menu update, everything feels upgraded overall.
I usually order raw fish like nigiri and sashimi, and today I had the Deluxe Assorted Sashimi. The slices were thick and super fresh, and the presentation was beautiful.
The service is always amazing. The servers are really kind, and whenever I order takeout, they leave such a cute handwritten note for customers, which always makes my day.
Highly recommend this place if you love good quality sushi and warm service!

This my husband and my go to sushi place! We love this place and especially the renovation!
All the rolls we tried were great, we got a free roll because our bill was more than 50 cad, and in the end we got frozen grapes as pallet cleansers! Overall DELICIOUS

I visited the new Sushi Hinode and really liked it. The place is spacious and has a cozy, café-like vibe that feels warm and relaxing. The staff were super friendly and made dining with kids easy and comfortable, which I really appreciated.
The food quality was excellent—feels like New Westminster finally has a sushi spot worth talking about. The chef’s rolls were creative, and everything tasted fresh with well-balanced flavors that most people will enjoy. You can tell they use great quailty ingredients and don’t hold back, which makes the place feel reliable. The seafood salad and rolls, especially, are some of the best I’ve had in Vancouver. Highly recommended!

Checked out the updated Sushi Hinode Japanese Restaurant, now under new management. We ordered the 18-piece assorted sashimi platter and the tuna aburi. Since our bill was over $50 (limited time offer), we were offered a choice between a deep-fried California roll or edamame with miso. We went with the latter – new year goals and all
Overall, the food was good. The tuna aburi was excellent, and the sashimi was solid, though not flawless. The amaebi (sweet shrimp) was very small (pictured), and some of the sashimi cuts weren’t ideal. The tuna, for example, was cut extremely chunky, which didn’t really enhance the experience. The miso soup could also use a bit more oomph – perhaps some tofu instead of just a small amount of green onions and a couple strands of wakame. Because of these details, I’m giving it 4 stars (wish I could do a 4.5).
That said, the service and atmosphere were a clear 5/5. The server was attentive, the food came out quickly, and the updated space feels fresh and spacious.

This has quickly become my go-to sushi spot. The updated atmosphere feels bright and fresh. The sushi had a great flavour and you can taste the quality. My personal favourites were the spicy aburi roll, reverse red, and alaska roll. Their Asahi on tap paired greatly with the meal. Friendly staff also made sure the food arrived quickly.

I decided to stop by after school and had the tomago maki and California roll, it was delicious and beautifully plated. They offer not only tea but even gave me miso and siracha on the house as well! My server Rachel was so kind and polite, the staff seem to be very friendly and the place is so beautiful! The ambiance is SIGNIFICANTLY better than the old sushi restaurant! Overall I loved it!!! I’m glad we finally have a great restaurant close to school.

Sushi Hinode is a great place for fresh, high-quality sushi. The fish tastes very fresh, and the rolls are flavorful and well made. The prawn tempura was really yummy and perfectly crispy, and the BC roll was delicious too. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is calm and welcoming. I would definitely recommend Sushi Hinode to anyone who enjoys good sushi and great service.
