Amorn Thai Cuisine
22826 56th Ave W, Mountlake Terrace

My family has been dining at Amorn Thai for what feels like 40 years—though the owner says the restaurant itself has been in business for 18. Still, it feels like forever in the best possible way.

Over the years, I’ve watched his kids grow up right alongside the restaurant. They were teenagers once; now they’ve graduated from college. Where does the time go?

That’s part of the magic of this place. The food is authentic, fresh, and consistently a joy to the palate—that’s a given. But what truly sets Amorn apart is the casual atmosphere, the friendly staff, and the unmistakable family feel you experience the moment you walk in.

Owner Amorn Leoun says he’s noticed the customer base getting younger as the community evolves and new residents move in. But one thing hasn’t changed: Amorn itself. And that constancy is exactly why people keep coming back.Amorn Thai Cuisine

My new favorite Thai spot in the Seattle area!
Family-run with fresh, high-quality ingredients and homestyle cooking that truly stands out. The chicken and prawns are juicy and flavorful, and the service is warm and welcoming. Right now, the mangoes are perfect too! As someone visiting from Thailand, this will be my go-to when I crave real Thai food.

The food, flavor and quality was amazing. Best fried rice my son has had. One of the best Panang curries I have had and the pad thai was excellent. The owners were so friendly, so attentive and the service was great. Prices normal-high side but worth it. It looks sort of out of place when you see it, sits back off of road. One bathroom only.

I don’t know why it took me so long to write this review. A few years back during a crazy winter storm the power was all through Mountlake terrace. I don’t know why, but I for some reason thought this place would be open because I saw someone walk out while I was driving by. I went in and it was lit by a couple candles but completely dark besides that. Nonetheless, the owner asked me what I wanted (pad see ew), and he proceeded to go whip up this amazing pad see ew with little to no light. So yeah, this place is amazing.

I am hard pressed to say there’s better Thai food in the broader Seattle area. Perfect Pad See Ew, the Pla Goong shrimp salad is one of the best salads I’ve ever had, and the crispy pork belly special is decadence at its finest.

Friendly family service, quick response, reasonable prices. A perfect local spot.

I ordered take out at the restaurant. The staff were very friendly and quick.

The food wasn’t great.

The yellow curry was very watery and lacked taste as a result. The chicken was also flavorless.

The Pad Thai was too sweet and the beef was also flavorless.

The fresh rolls are way too small for how much they cost, but the taste of the rolls themselves is serviceable. They don’t have rice noodles in them, just veggies and your protein of choice. The sauce is way too sweet though.

Someone already said it. Nothing beats family Thai food. This place has the tastiest Thai food I’ve ever been to and it’s not very busy so it is currently Montlake Terrace’s best kept secret. The music is calming, the atmosphere feels like a home and the food is second to none.

For appetizers, we got the fried tofu and spring rolls. They were fried to perfection and the sauce was a combination of sweet, sour and not overpowering.

For the entree, I got the Tofu Pharam (broc and spinach in peanut sauce), my wife got the Tofu Phad Tai, and my father in law got the Chicken Phad Tai. The peanut sauce in the dishes is abundant and delicious. The Phad Tai noodles were some of the best I’d ever had. Interestingly enough, the place does not try harder than it needs to. Excellent food seems like the norm and the habit for this place. This contributes to the relaxed vibes of the restaurant. The food speaks for itself and the service was excellent.

Lastly, I wish this place was close to my home because then I would order takeout from here 2-4 times a month. I would absolutely recommend this place to all my family and friends and I can’t wait to come back. 10/10 for Amorn Thai cuisine.
