The lemon aoli was a fresh change to the regular garlic. Great date spot – we will definitely be back to check out the patio when it is as lovely outside as the food was!
I hesitate to write a review because I really don’t want any more people to make it their favorite. However, that attitude is selfish, and I want the place to continue to do the bustling business that it does. My only regret is that they don’t serve brunch, but if they did do brunch they’d be open every day without rest, so it’s probably for the best.
And as a sidenote, I read a recent review where someone said that sitting at the table to the right of the hostess stand behind the mesh curtain was a punishment… Cool, then leave that one for me, because my friends and I try to request that table every time we come in. (though, granted, I can see how it might be unpleasant during an Arctic blast…..)
Great place, love it. My 2026 resolution is to eat at Ziba’s more often.
Service was great! They even worked to create a meal that accommodated my gluten and dairy free diet. I got the chicken pancetta – but grilled instead of fried chicken with a special creation sauce (olive oil, garlic, white wine) instead of the normal dairy lemon based sauce. My meal was very healthy and fresh tasting. Friends got the bow tie pasta and lasagna and liked it! Friend also tried the chocolate chip bread pudding and liked it.
On our second visit, I got the steak and fries / the steak could have used more flavor. Fries were good. My husband got the Wednesday special which was prime rib – good flavor but a little on the fatty side.
We ate with two little kids and Ziba’s had a small but ample kids menu. The food was really good for kids food (I stole some pasta and French fried).
For dinner, I got the Jambalaya with Shrimp, Chicken, and Andouille. It was very good and huge portion. It came with an awesome slice of spicy cornbread that was served warm. My friends got the Barbacoa and Avocado Salad which also looked amazing.
I’m knocking a star for price. The food was much more expensive than I would have guessed and they even charged for soda refills (which was not explained beforehand). The service was also lackluster but they seemed to be short staffed.
All in all, I would recommend it. Ziba’s offers great atmosphere for a special occasion or a simple night out with date or family. Give them a try! (just don’t tell anyone)
Ziba’s the bomb! It’s my favorite neighborhood spot. The food is uniformly homey, and delicious. The Sunday brunch is esp great. The staff is all around sweet and awesome! And the ambience is cozy and warm. Lovely spot!
