It’s a small version of the Oak Park Boulevard restaurant, yet the customer service is just as important. The service was great and the atmosphere is 1950ish. I loved the stools at the bar and the seating in the restaurant. It’s quiet yet has a quant social atmosphere. The food was worth the 7 minute walk from downtown. The food is fat girl approved. I spent $95 on an order that was completely ruined. The restaurant jammed five hamburgers in the bottom of one bag, then piled two large onion rings, two fries, and an order of tots on top. By the time it arrived, all of the burgers were smashed, soggy, and inedible.
When I called to report the issue, I was hung up on twice. The third time, they told me to “call DoorDash” and hung up again. Absolutely unacceptable for a restaurant that charges this much.
If you value your money and your food arriving in one piece, avoid this place. Terrible food handling and even worse customer service.

Wanted to give this place a try based on the reviews, and we were very happy we did. We did the downtown location…was ample parking for early lunch time on a Monday. The 2 service gentlemen were extremely nice and helpful. The food was plainly good. Wife and I loved every bite of the burger and breakfast sandwich. Good old-fashion southern diner cooking at it’s best. Highly recommend.

My husband and I have become absolutely hooked on Cotton’s Downtown! It’s quickly become our go-to spot, and for good reason. The atmosphere is fantastic, the location is great, and the friendly customer service makes every visit a pleasure.

The food here is always cooked to order, hot, and fresh – you can taste the quality.
*Texas Toast Cheeseburgers: Thick, juicy, and perfect!
*Crispy Battered Fries: So tasty and perfectly crispy.
*Hungry Man/Hungry Woman Breakfast: Portions that leave you completely satisfied.
*Omelets: Absolutely “eggcellent” (LOL, yes, had to sneak that in!).
*Onions: Huge fan of their generous portions of both raw and grilled onions – they don’t skimp!
We also love the charming green decor (it’s my favorite color!), and the consistency is impressive. I’ve been back almost every day this past week since my first visit! While we haven’t tried dinner yet, their breakfast and lunch are flawless, and we can’t wait to see what dinner brings.

welcome and smiles from the staff. I had the “Maddie’s Shrimp Grilled Cheese”, fried, flavorful shrimp sandwiched between a good grade of cheese and perfectly, buttered slices of bread. My friend enjoyed “The Cardiac” omelette breakfast which came with toast and hash-browns. The omelette was a heaping serving of bacon, sausage & cheese inside. I’m going back every time possible I visit Lake. Charles.

If you are looking for a good homemade hamburger this is the place. It is a place where locals go as it was full at lunch time. Just moving here a year ago, I did not know the routine. Once I realized you must order from counter and menu was on the wall, I was fine. They bring your burger to the table. On the far side they have lots of yummy locking ice-cream. Great place to grab a quick lunch when you are downtown or for lunch hour.

We all ordered the chicken omelet with mushrooms, onions, spinach, and cheese… big, filling, and tasty. Chicken had a good taste and was juicy.
The toast was very buttery, just like we like it!
It’s definitely a whole in the wall type of dinner, but it was well worth the visit.

Had heard so much about the place, so decided to stop by for a classic buger and string onion rings for breakfast! went by around 9am and there were only about 12 customers there. The place is small so limited seating (maybe about 10 tables and 10 bar stool facing the chef) the food was amazing and will be back to try other items on their list.
